Why I started my own business..

I was made redundant twice. It doesn’t seem a lot for some of you but this happened to me by the age of 32 so came a bit like a shocker to me..

After the first one, I went straight back into a full-time management job. Biggest mistake I could’ve made: £12,000 a year in childcare, exhausted me, exhausted my daughter too. I had zero control over my time, just working to pay bills.

So when redundancy hit a second time, I did something that terrified me: I cut my income in half. Went part-time in an admin job and built my business alongside it, evenings and nap times and whatever hours I could find.

That part-time job was honestly one of the best jobs I’ve ever had and I was sooo sad to leave it. But the business grew and I couldn’t do both anymore.

Two redundancies is what it took for me to stop building someone else’s dream on my terms and start building my own.
