In 1956 Russia invaded Hungary and during this time a very brave 14 year old boy helped to lead numerous countrymen through minefields and over the Austrian border.
He was eventually stopped from getting back into his country by the Russian guards and was separated from his family.
He ended up in a refugee camp and after a period of time was relocated to the UK with over 200,000 other Hungarians.
Not speaking a word of English, his new caring adopted family cared for him and he went to school and began to learn English...... So....role onto 1993........when I first met you.......Thank you Lou Bedocs, you were an inspiration to all who met you and worked with you. Your work and research in Lighting has influenced and touched billions of people though they won't realise it.

It was a privilege and an honour to say goodbye today in your Little Co. Durham village.
REST IN PEACE....
Heaven is definitely a brighter place now......but we know you left quite a lot of light with us too.... THANK YOU for your legacy.
