Stakeholder management, what's it really all about?

Personally I believe it's the most important thing in any change initiative, project or programme. Why?

It keeps people aligned, informed, committed and engaged and oils the wheels of progress. I've found that business change that doesn't understand and value the importance of stakeholder management more often than not are at more risk of failure.

Stakeholder engagement and management is much more than a passing conversation if done properly it helps manage expectation and enables big relationships to be built and difficult conversations to be had.
