In 1966, Rolls-Royce acquired Bristol Siddeley Engines, beginning our history at the site. Since then, several key aviation technologies have been developed at the Bristol site, changing aerospace history.

The Olympus became the first two-spool turbojet, and was later developed to power the Concorde, sustaining speeds of Mach 2.04.

Pegasus entered service as the propulsion behind the Harrier and Sea Harrier for the RAF and Royal Navy. the Harrier and Sea Harrier with the RAF and Royal Navy, pioneering vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) power- the heart of the Harrier Jump Jet.

Today, our Bristol facility continues to be an essential hub for innovation. Through the EUROJET consortium, EJ200 engines delivered from Bristol power the Eurofighter Typhoon. They deliver a high thrust-to-weight ratio and have exceptional reliability, passing two million flying hours earlier this year.

And through continuous investment in modern manufacturing, cutting-edge materials, and high-calibre teams, we are shaping the next-generation of power and propulsion for the Global Combat Air Programme and autonomous platforms with the Orpheus demonstrator project.

110 years of continuous aerospace engine manufacturing in the East Midlands and counting!

Yesterday, we broke ground at our Derby A site, marking a significant milestone in our largest investment in the site for more than a decade and paving the way for two new buildings.

Claire Ward, Mayor of the East Midlands Combined Authority, joined our colleagues to celebrate the milestone.

Set for completion in 2028, the new facilities will help our teams deliver for our customers and get ready for future growth.

Yesterday marked an important milestone for the future of airfreight as the Airbus A350F took to the skies for the first time.

We’re proud to power this new-generation freighter with the Trent XWB-97, an engine already proven in service on the A350-1000, with more than 4.5 million engine flying hours behind it. A proven engine foundation from day one.

Congratulations to Airbus and everyone involved in bringing the A350F to this moment.

Take a look at our new mtu NautIQ Bridge "Point Break" concept, which reimagines one of the most space-intensive areas on board by seamlessly integrating the wheelhouse into the yacht's living environment whenever navigation is not underway. This creates valuable additional space without compromising functionality.

Featuring a next-generation Human Machine Interface (HMI), Head-Up Display technology and future AI-supported functionalities, Point Break offers an exciting glimpse into the future of yacht operations.

We’re proud to achieve another milestone on our journey toward more sustainable marine operations. We have received the DNV Methanol Readiness Certificate for our mtu Series 4000 engines, confirming that newly built marine propulsion systems can be retrofitted for future dual-fuel methanol operation.

This achievement builds on more than 5,000 hours of successful methanol testing and reflects our commitment to developing flexible, future-ready propulsion solutions.

Together with our work on HVO, e-diesel, and other sustainable fuels, this certification is another step toward supporting the maritime industry's transition to lower emissions while maintaining the reliability, performance, and operational flexibility our customers expect.
