What a fantastic week in Ireland, working alongside our valued customer to carry out critical air valve inspections, maintenance and exchanges across the water network.

Air valves play a vital role in maintaining pipeline efficiency and protecting essential infrastructure. Regular inspection and maintenance help ensure trapped air is released correctly, vacuum conditions are prevented, pressure surges are reduced and pipelines remain operating at their designed capacity.

Poorly maintained or failed air valves can contribute to reduced flow, increased pumping costs, pressure fluctuations, corrosion and, in severe cases, pipeline collapse or bursts.

By inspecting, servicing and replacing defective assets, we are helping to improve network performance, extend the operational life of the pipeline and reduce the risk of future failures. Another highly successful week delivered through technical expertise, collaboration and proactive asset maintenance. 🇮🇪💧

Before commissioning any pipeline, it is essential to ensure that every component is correctly installed, inspected, and ready for service.

It was a pleasure to assist our customer with the replacement of these heavily corroded fl**ge bolts. Applying the correct torque to every bolt is crucial to achieving an even gasket load and ensuring a leak-free seal.

Having the correct hydraulic torque equipment on site enabled our engineers to tighten the fl**ge accurately and safely. Not only does this equipment apply the precise torque required, but it also records the torque data, providing full traceability and verification that the joint has been assembled to the required specification.

As part of the works, the existing air valves were also replaced with new units, helping to improve the long-term reliability and performance of the network.

Another successful project completed safely, professionally, and to the highest engineering standards by the HVL Solutions team.

Successful Valve Diagnosis & Repair – Ireland 🇮🇪

A fantastic technical achievement by our engineering team in Ireland last night, working alongside our customer under challenging conditions throughout the night.

Following initial assessment, the valve was successfully opened and carefully stripped down to allow access to the internal operating components. Within just 5 minutes of dismantling, our engineers had identified the internal fault and established the cause of the operational failure.

Working on critical valve assets requires a methodical approach, particularly where isolation and operational constraints present additional challenges. Having the right technical knowledge and experience on site allows faults to be diagnosed quickly and the correct repair strategy to be established.

A huge team effort from both HVL Solutions and our customer, working together throughout the night to achieve a successful outcome.

It was fantastic to see this repair method deployed successfully last week.

Our customer was dealing with a pipe suffering from a significant leak, with heavy water loss. Using HVL’s new leak repair method, our team was able to rapidly contain the leak, reducing it from a failure to little more than a drip.

This method is a real “get out of jail” solution. While it is not intended as a permanent repair, it provides customers with valuable time to safely plan and schedule a full replacement, while restoring the network and putting water supply back into service.
