Hull Heritage Ltd - New business from plumbing to carpentry! - Please share!
My stepsons have recently started an exciting new venture- Hull Heritage!
Kai is a 1st class plumber with attention to detail I’ve not seen in an another human being!
Aiston is hitting the carpentry scene with a mind blowing bang!
The two of them together are the recipe for perfection when it comes to your plumbing and carpentry requirements!
This week Kai finished a complete bathroom refit! Our old bathroom was stripped and in true Hull fashion our bathroom had sprung small, slow leaks in the past which Kai spotted and repaired! He moved our pipes to make room for our new whirlpool bath style bath. He laid new floor boards as our floor was uneven and to achieve the best longevity out of our tiled floor, the floor needed to be straight.
Kai then built (from scratch) new boxing for our shower and toilet! He had a vision to add shelves to the boxing (wow- take a look at the pics the shelves are one of many wow factors). It’s all in the prep and this is where his need for perfection started to show. Kai prepared the new boxing with a foam board for best results for tiling. On the now straight and even floor he laid a decoupling membrane to allow for slight movement under the tiles, preventing cracking of the grout further down the line.
Kai tiled the walls and the floor, did I mention he’s a perfectionist? His determination to get the best and most aesthetically pleasing result, Kai and Aiston had to cut all bar 16 tiles! There was a lot of tiles!!!
Floor and walls tiled, we’re on to the second fit, this he could have done blindfolded! It all came together rapidly! Whilst Kai was fitting the sink vanity unit, wardrobe, radiator towel rail, toilet etc Aiston got to work on our electric requirements. Aiston wired in our whirlpool bath style bath, using junction boxes which he buried into the wall and our ‘all singing and dancing’ bathroom mirror. We had a light up mirror previously but whoever installed that had us unknowingly dicing with death! Aiston made the electrics safe and chased the new wires into the wall. Aiston then started on our bespoke bath panel. Kai had previously measured out what he needed and Aiston used those measurements to cut the plywood to size and also built a frame for the bath panel, not a single millimetre out! He added the foam for tiling, ready for Kai to tile. Now this is where the boys again showed how considerate they are of your future needs. They added magnets to secure the bath panel once attached, but to make life easier in future, should we ever need to get under the bath, they added 2 handles to allow easier handling of the panel AND 2 chains to take the weight of the heavy bath panel. It’s the little things that make a big difference!
These little considerations are in large quantities throughout the bathroom, for example, we are proud parents to a 3 year old, fearless, wannabe Spider-Man who’s web throwing isn’t fully functioning so climbing is his thing! The wardrobe came with basic attachments which are not ‘3 year old, fearless, wannabe Spider-Man proof’ so for extra security they added more screws to make sure nothing can take that thing off the wall!
I could go on and on, take a look at my pics!! Zoom in, check out that stunning trim around the tiles, look at the those grout lines, perfectly even throughout the room, notice how even in the box shelves the grout lines run through flawlessly in line with the rest of the bathroom! The units are all the exact same height off of the floor… no folks, no tickling of the OCD in this bathroom!
Lucky for you, their books are only now opening so get in there quick and let them blow you away with their skill, eye for detail and amazing finishes!
This was a big project but no job is too big or too small for these guys. Workmanship you can trust!
