“Dúchas” (meaning an innate sense of heritage, birthright, and a deep, instinctive belonging to one's native place and people) is constructed from individually kiln-fused glass elements layered into circular forms. Through repetition and accumulation, each piece retains traces of its making, creating a material archive of place, memory and time. Inspired by Ireland’s architectural and archaeological heritage, the sculptures explore continuity, transformation and belonging. Light, transparency and texture evoke shifting perceptions, revealing how landscapes and memories are shaped over time.

🧚‍♀️✨ A little look back at a magical day of creativity Learmount Community Development Group ✨🏡🌈

What an amazing time we had creating these beautiful fused glass fairy houses! 💕

From choosing vibrant colours and experimenting with textures, to carefully cutting, arranging and designing their own unique creations, our young artists put so much imagination, creativity and personality into every piece.

And now we get to celebrate the finished results! ✨ Each fairy house is completely unique — a little reflection of the wonderful ideas and creativity of the children who made them 🧚‍♀️🏡

It was fantastic to see everyone having fun, trying something new, sharing ideas and taking such pride in what they created. You should all be incredibly proud of yourselves! 🌈👏

Thank you to all our young artists for making the day so much fun and filling the room with creativity, colour and plenty of fairy magic! ✨💖

🎥 Here’s a little celebration of their finished creations!

The exhibition opened on 6 August during the Kilkenny Arts Festival and runs until 24 October 2026. Definitely worth a visit.

Twenty-seven years of working with glass… and surprisingly, not as much broken glass as you’d expect! ✨

After nearly three decades as a glass artist, I’m still learning, creating, and finding new ways to share my work. This time, it’s through video.

A huge thank you to my daughter (Jessica) for helping me create my latest logo animation and recent social media content. Your creativity, patience, and encouragement mean the world to me. ❤️

Here’s to embracing new skills, celebrating craftsmanship, and proving it’s never too late to try something different.

Thank you all for your patience and wonderful comments on my latest fused glass workshop class, which I facilitated at my local arts centre flowerfieldarts. This is the final video which shows the completed bowls slumped in the moulds and then washed and out of the moulds.
I think you can all agree that they have turned out amazing. The overlap and variations of clear and blue tones are so striking, as the light catches the edges of the glass.
Well done to the 8 ladies who participated in this workshop and I hope you all love your sea inspired contemporary bowls 🌊
