🎄✨ And we’re off… the Christmas glass season has officially begun! ✨🎄

My first fused glass Christmas tree decoration workshop is complete, and what a lovely way to kick off the festive season with a lovely group of ladies from Ballylaw craft group yesterday ❤️🎅

This is just the beginning of a VERY busy few weeks, with 41 workshops booked between now and mid-December. I’m looking forward to getting creative with so many wonderful groups, making beautiful glass decorations and adding a little sparkle to the run-up to Christmas. ✨

The exciting news is that nearly every workshop is FULLY BOOKED! 🥰 A huge thank you to everyone who has booked, organised a workshop or helped spread the word. Your continued support means so much.

If you’ve missed out on a place, don’t lose hope just yet. Keep an eye on my page for any cancellations, and I’ll be sharing a post shortly with details of the dates and venues where I’ll be spreading the Christmas sparkle over the coming weeks. 🎄✨

Now, time to get the kilns fired up and the Christmas magic underway🔥

Delighted to be working with the local primary school children again to help them bring their winning drawings of their Christmas decoration design to life.

🎄 Calling all P4 pupils – help us decorate the Mayor’s Christmas tree! 🎄

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Dawn Huggins, is inviting P4 pupils from primary schools across the Borough to get creative and design a Christmas decoration for the tree at Council’s headquarters in Cloonavin. ✏️🎨

There are 8 templates to choose from, and the winning designs will be brought to life by local artist Natasha Duddy Glass Designs.

Templates have already been sent to schools, but are also available on request from [email protected]

⭐ Eight pupils will be selected – one boy and one girl from each of the four Council areas – and will be invited to join the Mayor on the Christmas cavalcade at their local town switch-on:

📍 Ballymoney – Thursday 19 November
📍 Limavady – Saturday 21 November
📍 Ballycastle – Thursday 26 November
📍 Coleraine – Friday 27 November

The winning pupils will also be invited to Cloonavin to place their decorations on the Council Christmas tree.

🎅 Entries must be received by Friday 23 October.

🕰️ A little time for those who give so much of theirs to others! 💙

Last week, I had the pleasure of facilitating a creative fused glass clock-making workshop at glenelly_community for a wonderful group of carers who dedicate so much of their time to supporting others.

It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to take some well-deserved time for themselves, enjoy a creative night out, learn new skills, experiment with glass cutting and design, and share plenty of laughs along the way.

The workshop focused on creating beautiful fused glass clocks, with a special reminder of how precious time is — both the time we give to others and the moments we spend with the people we care for. ⏰

Now comes the exciting part. All the clocks have been fired in the kiln and will be returned to their makers this week, ready to be enjoyed as a lasting reminder of a special evening.

A huge thank you to the HARC Project and Derg Valley Care for making this meaningful experience possible.

I am delighted to share “CONNECTED THROUGH GLASS” a colourful collection of fused glass suncatchers created by adults from the CAN Group in Coleraine.

Over four weeks, participants transformed special memories, favourite places, loved ones, pets and local landscapes into beautiful pieces of glass art. Each circle tells its own unique story, and together they create a wonderful celebration of creativity, friendship and community.

✨ Each participant created their own unique suncatcher, and together they have been brought into one stunning collaborative display.

We're so proud of the finished collection and can't wait to see it brightening up the CAN base for everyone to enjoy.

💙 I would also like to thank The Courthouse, Shared Space for organising these workshops and. the National Lottery and the lArts Council of Northern Ireland for their support in making projects like this possible.

Delighted that I am the chosen artist profile today, for the Glass Society of Ireland spotlight on each of the exhibiting artists in the current “Of Sand & Ash” exhibition at the national Design and Craft Gallery in Kilkenny.

Also overwhelmed that I got the news today that my piece has now SOLD and will be going to a new home at the end of October, when the exhibition is finished.
