This is what EGGS Networking is all about… when something doesn’t work, there’s always someone ready to jump in and help and support you!

Although in this case, the first solution appeared to be:
👀 “If we all stare at it for long enough, surely it’ll fix itself…”

Closely followed by that tried-and-tested bit of technical genius:

💡 “Have you tried turning it off and on again?” 🤣

We’re pleased to report that between us, we did eventually get there!

🥚 Another great morning at EGGS Networking! 🥚

We had a brilliant meeting this morning at the Park Hotel, catching up with fellow local business owners, sharing ideas and finding out a little more about what everyone has been up to.

🚘 We also had a rather special visitor!
Marcus joined us with his fantastic Aston Martin! Marcus runs a wedding chauffeuring business, Arrive in Shadow, covering Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex.
It was a pleasure to meet Marcus — and, of course, his lovely car certainly got plenty of attention! 😍

⭐ The power of a good review
Alex from Ulric Web Design Limited gave us some top tips on leaving reviews and reminded us just how important they can be for small businesses.

Taking just a few minutes to say thank you for installing my boiler, completing my accounts or servicing my vehicle can be invaluable. A positive review helps raise a business's profile, lets others know about a great service and acts as a digital referral that can be shared far and wide.
It’s a small gesture that can mean a great deal to a local business. ❤️

🏡 Refurbish rather than replace!
Trevor from T Edwards Home Solutions Ltd showed us some images from a recent project, highlighting that refurbishing can be much better than replacing if you can!

Trevor and the team can help with all kinds of home improvements, whether it’s making a room a more useful space or refurbishing or replacing windows.

🥚 Another cracking Friday morning at EGGS Networking in Diss!
Plenty of business chat, useful advice, recommendations and, as always, lots of laughs along the way.

🏡 Stefan from Estates gave us a really useful insight into what can happen when landlords don’t keep on top of the ever-changing rules and regulations around rental properties.

From Gas Safety Certificates (where applicable) and Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) to Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), getting the right paperwork in place is essential. And because penalties can apply per property, the costs can quickly mount up if you’re managing several properties yourself.

If you’re a landlord and keeping up with the paperwork, renewals and regulations is becoming a headache, have a chat with Stefan and the team at HUS. They can help with the day-to-day management of your rental property – and Stefan can also help if the time comes to sell!

Next week at Diss Bowls Club, Andy and Neil are running a Pay What You Feel First Aid training course.

You’ll leave with an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate, making this a brilliant opportunity for restaurants, shops and other local businesses to get essential training while helping to raise money for a great cause.

Another great EGGS networking meeting at the Park Hotel this morning! 🥚☕

There’s always plenty of conversation, lots of laughter and a really positive atmosphere – a great way to start a Friday morning.

This week, Mark reminded us just how important props can be when talking about your business. 👀

We generally take in far more information through our eyes than our ears, so if you want people to remember what you do, why not bring something along that represents your business?

We certainly won’t be forgetting “pink for the sink and blue for the loo” from Perdee at C&H Cleaning Company anytime soon! 😂

Today it was Matt from TC Group’s turn to give his 10-minute presentation and tell us a little more about TC Group – and his own journey within the profession.

From starting out as a trainee with a local firm, to becoming a regional partner across four local offices, and now being a partner in a national Top 20 accountancy firm with more than 70 offices – there have been plenty of ups, downs and lessons along the way.

And that experience matters. The partners at TC Group Accountants & Business Advisors in Diss understand many of the challenges that come with running and growing a business because they face those challenges too. It’s about more than the numbers – it’s about understanding the businesses and people behind them. 🤝

🌞 Early start, great connections and (hopefully!) a nice cool morning!

We’re looking forward to another EGGS networking meeting tomorrow morning at The Park Hotel.

Last week Mark a volunteer with East Anglian Air Ambulance Charity, gave us an important reminder about something many of us can do to help save lives: give blood. ❤️🩸

Our emergency services do an incredible job, but they can’t do it alone. Having blood available when it’s urgently needed can make a huge difference and you never know when you, a friend or a family member might need it.

It was also great to hear that some of our EGGS members give their staff paid time off to donate blood. Such a simple but brilliant way for local businesses to support this vital service. 👏

🚗 Car 25 Is On The Road!

We've got some fantastic news... Car 25 has officially been passed fit for duty! 🎉

A huge thank you to Rob and the team at .green.garage, for carrying out a full inspection and giving our trusty 25 year old Skoda Fabia the thumbs up for the journey ahead.

Even better... it's still in date for its MOT! 👏

This is a huge milestone in our preparations for the Veterans Honour Rally and means we're one step closer to driving nearly 2,000 miles from Diss to Sarajevo.

🌺 Why Poppies & Purpose?

The poppies represent remembrance for every serviceman and woman who made the ultimate sacrifice during Andy's 25 years of military service.

Our purpose is to continue serving by raising funds and awareness for veterans' charities, Street First Aid and the communities we support. Every mile honours the past while helping protect lives in the future.
