Hi, I'm Claire! I'm your admin partner, ready to take "Claire" of all your adminy tasks so you can focus on your business. I have 20 years of admin and customer service experience across the health, social care, education and HR sectors. I've been a Virtual Assistant for almost two years now, specialising in small business owners who are neurodivergent and/or busy-brained. I live in Yorkshire with

my husband and our fur child (sausage dog Bernadette). If you'd like to chat about ways I can help support your business, drop me a message.

Happy Tuesday! Just a quick post about my organisational tools today.

Because yes, my main forte is admin support, but I also seem to have a habit of creating organisational tools whenever I spot a problem that needs solving.

I've now got six notebooks available on Amazon. They're 120 pages, lined, and ready for all of your idea dumps and to-do lists. If my brain feels full, I find it really helpful to write everything down. Once I can see my to-do list in front of me, it often feels far less overwhelming.

I've also created a weekly planner spreadsheet, which actually started life as a solution for a client. I was so pleased with it that I gave it a bit of a makeover during Steph Black's Flexible Income Sprint and turned it into something anyone can download!

It's printable too, so you can keep it in front of you throughout the week to stay organised, keep track of your priorities, and enjoy the satisfaction of ticking things off as you go.

My notebooks are available here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/stores/author/B0GX69VMPK/allbooks
My planner is available here: https://payhip.com/b/yoAuX

If you have any notebooks you'd like to see, let me know as I don't need any excuses to make more!

My mum asked me a question last week.

She said, "Do you think people realise that a Virtual Assistant isn't AI?"

It really amused me, but then it got me thinking. "Virtual Assistant" does sound a bit robot-y, doesn't it? It's no surprise that there's sometimes confusion about what we actually do.

So then I wondered... what would we call ourselves instead?

Recently, I've found myself using the term admin support partner, because that's exactly how I like to work. I help small business owners with all the admin-y bits behind the scenes, giving them more time to focus on their clients, or even to take a bit of well-earned time for themselves!

That being said, if you're looking for robot-like admin efficiency, give me a shout. I promise I spout marginally less rubbish than ChatGPT 😉

P.S. Don't worry, I got my lovely Mum's permission to share this.

Be more Bernie. Yes, I'm blatantly using my dog for attention, but I do have a point.

Every morning, she wakes up at exactly the right time to remind us that breakfast is overdue. She has scheduled nap breaks throughout the day, regular patrols of the garden, and dedicated slots for supervising me while I work. To be honest, she's far more organised than some humans I know.

The point is, having a plan helps. Sometimes, having things out of your brain and in front of you really helps to prioritise what you need to do next, and to keep you on track.

That's why I created my new simple weekly planner. It's a printable spreadsheet, so you can write in all of your tasks and cross off each one as you go. It shows you what you've achieved, and helps to fight the overwhelm. It comes with a guide for use, but trust me, it's super simple!

And unlike Bernie's planner, there's room for more than naps and snacks.

If you'd like to take a look, you can get it here for £5: https://payhip.com/b/yoAu

I love nothing more than a plan. I like to know what I'm doing to the letter, in work and in life.

There's something very calming to me about taking a long list of tasks and turning it into a clear plan for the week ahead. It doesn't mean everything always goes to plan (because life happens!), but it definitely helps me feel less overwhelmed.

It's one of the things I enjoy most about supporting my clients, too: helping them stay organised, prioritise what matters, and create a bit more breathing room in their week.

I'd love to know if you're a planner, and if so, what method you use.

Personally, I love a combination of a calendar, spreadsheet and paper diary (you can never be too careful!).

If you're always looking for ways to stay organised, keep an eye out next week... I have something that might help!

What do you get the person who has everything?

You can’t really go wrong with a nice notebook, and I’ve got just the thing 😉

A few weeks ago, I set myself the challenge of learning how to design and upload my own notebooks to Amazon, and I have a few available, with more designs coming very soon!

If you’d like to have a look, you can find them here:

If there's a notebook you'd like to see, let me know in the comments!

Today, I thought I'd share just a few of the ways I helped my clients recently.

Even just a few little things ticked off or handed over to someone else can make a big difference when you're a small business owner wearing all the hats all of the time.

If you'd like to chat about how I can help you rescue some of your time, pop me a message!

How have you been coping with the hot weather?

One of the big things I miss about being in an office is generally there was air con! I find it very tough so I’m delighted to see the rain this afternoon.

Sending rainy vibes to you if you need them (I’m not a VA that can organise the weather, sorry, but I’ll try my best)!

Does your business work for you, or do you work for your business?

A lot of us become self-employed because we want (or need) work that fits around our lives. That might be because of family commitments, physical or mental health, or simply because we value the flexibility that self-employment can offer.

You have a doctor's appointment, and there's nobody to ask for "permission". Your friend asks if you want to have a coffee and a catch-up, and you can. If you want to go and see your kid in their school play, that's possible.

In theory, self-employment gives us the freedom to say yes to those things.

But then comes the guilt. The feeling that you should be working on your business instead; replying to emails, promoting yourself, or posting on social media 😉

I know, I've been there, believe me. Sometimes we get so caught up in running our businesses that we forget one of the reasons we started them in the first place: to build a life that works better for us, too.

So, tell me, does your business work for you, and do you give yourself time to be something other than a business owner? If not, consider this as me telling you to go for it!

And if having some admin support would help you create a little more breathing room, you know where I am.

Happy Tuesday! Today I want to talk again about 3 signs that you might need a Virtual Assistant.

If you didn't know already (unlikely but possible), I'm a Virtual Assistant, and I help small businesses with their admin and keep things running smoother.

I know there's not a lot of wiggle room in a small business, but investing just a small amount of time in me gives you precious time back for your clients or for yourself.

If any of these signs seem familiar to you, then maybe it's time to think about letting me Take Claire of It. Just saying 😉

Happy Virtual Assistant Day!

I’ve only just discovered this day exists, but I’m glad it does, because Virtual Assistants provide such valuable support to business owners, working quietly behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly.

It also feels quite fitting that Virtual Assistant Day overlaps with Mental Health Awareness Week.

That might seem like a bit of a stretch, but I genuinely believe that having the right support in your business can ease some of the overwhelm and stress that comes with being your own boss.

Sometimes, giving yourself back a little time and mental space can make a huge difference...and who wouldn’t want that?
