2 years running and well deserved. Love to see our clients smashing it. Well done ACR Estate Agents 🍾

WE HAVE WON GOLD AGAIN!!! 🏆😭

British Property Awards 2026–2027.
Best Estate Agent in Doncaster.
Gold… back to back!! 🥇

I started ACR in 2024 with just me and a belief there was a better way to do this. Winning it once felt surreal, but winning it twice feels like confirmation that we’re achieving what we set out to do. 🥹

And what makes this even more special is that this isn’t a voting award or a popularity contest. It’s an anonymously, independent assessment spread over several months, looking at how agents perform across a whole range of areas to determine who is genuinely delivering the best service.🙌

So to be recognised as the Best Estate Agent in Doncaster, out of 60 agents, for the second year running honestly means more than I can put into words. 🥹

This belongs to every client who trusted us with their home. Every seller who took a chance on a small independent agency. Every person who recommended us to someone they care about. 🩷

2 years, 2 golds and we’re just getting started 🏡💪

On the Brand No. 04.

Most website problems are not technical problems. They are ownership problems.

Think about who, specifically, is responsible for your website this month. Not who built it. Who is responsible for it now. In a lot of small businesses the honest answer is nobody, or it is the owner, in theory, somewhere below about forty more urgent things.

That is why sites drift. Nothing dramatic happens. The updates slip, the content goes stale, a form breaks quietly, and none of it is anyone's fault because none of it was anyone's job.

Handing it to someone is not really about the technical work. It is about it becoming a job again.

Friday Fix No. 16.

You publish a new page. You share it. Then nothing much happens, and after a few weeks it is quietly forgotten.

Here is a thing that gets missed. A page that nothing else on your site links to is, as far as Google is concerned, a page you do not think is important. Your own site is the strongest signal you have about what matters on it, and most new pages launch with nothing pointing at them at all.

The fix takes ten minutes and it is the half everyone skips. When you publish something new, go back into two or three older pages that are already doing well and add a genuine link to it from inside the text. Not the menu. Not the footer. In the writing, where someone reading would actually want it.

Do that on the day you publish, every time.

An honest one about selling online.

If you have a tidy range, one price per product, and you want to be trading in a fortnight managing it yourself, a hosted platform will get you there faster and cheaper than we could build it. We will tell you that rather than quote you.

Where it stops being the right answer is specific. When trade customers pay different prices to the public. When another system already owns your stock. When you are selling into more than one country. At that point you are fighting the platform every week.

The trade off nobody mentions at signup is that a hosted platform is quick to join and awkward to leave, because the shop lives on their side rather than yours.

Worth thinking about before you build, not after.

Leave your details and we'll talk it through. Link in the comments.

We’re looking for android beta testers for our mileage app

MileClear is on Android. The app is in closed testing on Google Play and it needs testers.

Google will not let it go public until 12 people have installed the test version and kept it for 14 days. That is the whole ask. Driving with it is welcome but not required, and testers get Pro free for the duration.

Got an Android phone, or know someone who has? Send the Google account email to [email protected] and we will send the install link the same day.

Friday Fix No. 15, and this one takes about two minutes to check.

Your Google Business Profile has a primary category. That single setting does more to decide which local searches you appear in than almost anything else on the profile, and an enormous number of businesses picked it once during setup and never looked again.

Get it wrong and you can be doing everything else right while quietly being excluded from the searches that matter. A joiner listed as "Contractor" will struggle in searches for joiners.

Two minutes: open your profile, look at the primary category, and ask whether it is the words a customer would actually use. Add secondary categories for the rest of what you do, but the primary one is the one that carries the weight.

There is a particular kind of clinic website that we see constantly. Soft blue, a stock photo of a smiling person in a white coat, the same four service boxes, the same reassuring words.

It is fine. It is also identical to every other clinic within thirty miles, because they are all on the same template from the same handful of suppliers.

Which is a problem, because choosing a clinic is a trust decision. Patients compare. If three sites say the same things in the same layout, the only thing left to compare on is price, and that is not the ground you want to win on.

We build clinic sites around the actual practice. Your team, your rooms, your process, your outcomes.

Leave your details and we'll ring you back. Link in the comments.

Kind Words No. 03.

Abigail came to us with a template estate agency site. It worked, in the sense that it existed, but it looked like every other agency using the same template and it was built around what the template could do rather than what she needed it to do.

We replaced it with something built around her goals instead. Same business, very different tool.

Her words, not ours, and it is a real Google review:

"They replaced my template estate-agency site with a bespoke one built around my goals. Clear, professional and engaging."

If your site is doing the bare minimum, leave your details and we'll have a proper look at it.

Friday Fix No. 14.

Putting off your website updates does not save you money. It moves the money to a bigger bill later.

Here is how it actually plays out. An update is due. The week is busy, so it waits. Next month the same. Eighteen months on, the gap between what you are running and what is current is wide enough that updating breaks things, so now it is a proper job rather than a click.

Nobody makes a decision to let that happen. It happens because it is nobody's job.

Ten minutes a month keeps it from ever getting there. Updates applied and then actually checked, backups tested rather than assumed, and someone opening the site afterwards to make sure the form still sends.

If that has been on your list for a while, leave your details and we'll have a look.

Something we say to small businesses more often than you might expect: you can absolutely build this yourself.

Plenty do, and it works out fine. The builders are genuinely good now. If someone in the business enjoys that sort of thing and has a spare weekend, go for it, and we mean that.

The question worth asking first is not whether you can build it. It is who looks after it in eighteen months, when the plugin updates are overdue, the contact form has quietly stopped sending and the person who built it has a business to run.

That is the bit that catches people, and it is the bit we are actually for.

If you would rather it was somebody's job, leave your details and we'll ring you. Link in the comments. 👋
