Who remembers getting their shirt signed when they finished school? (Whatever year that may have been!)
I do and it feels not that long ago, even if it was.
Well today is my eldest sons last GCSE exam and final day at school š„ŗ
Itās a strange feeling sending him off with this so he can capture all of his friends names, knowing heās ending his school career and moving onto new things after the summer.
Heās growing into a young man I am very proud of and Iām excited for to see what he does next.
On the flip side of this Iām also a bit anxious about the change in routine and how we navigate him being at home more.
I run my business from home, I have my routine, I like the quiet and peace of the home when the kids are at school and I like not having to think about anyone else being here, making a mess or interrupting me.
The additional mental load is what I mean, the distractions from someone else presence when Iām trying focus etc.
Heās also a bit worried about becoming ālazyā. I donāt think he will be, heās active, likes to play basketball, has friends, he really is no bother and we get on well.
But, we are stepping into unknown territory as parent and young adult so if anyone whoās been there has any advice or words of wisdom, drop them below and help a mum out.
