👉 A written agreement or contract.
👉 Confirmed responsibilities and clear expectations.

💜 What Does It Take to Join the Octopus Moon Register?

Not every pet sitter who wants to join Octopus Moon automatically gets a profile.

And that's deliberate.

When I created the Octopus Moon Register of Professional Pet Sitters, I didn't want to build another place where somebody could simply fill in a form, create a listing and call themselves a professional.

I wanted the register to mean something. 🐙🌙

So before a pet sitter is invited to join, there are standards they need to meet.

Every applicant is personally interviewed by me, and I review the professional credentials required by Octopus Moon, including:

🐾 Appropriate specialist pet business insurance.
🐾 Current Pet First Aid training.
🐾 Relevant pet care qualifications.
🐾 Identity verification.
🐾 Professional experience and suitability.

It's the preparation you've put into your business.

It's having the right things in place before somebody hands you the keys to their home.

It's understanding the responsibility that comes with caring for somebody else's animals.

It's being prepared for the day when something doesn't quite go according to plan.

And it's being able to demonstrate that you've invested in doing this properly.

🐾 Octopus Moon has a very specific focus.

We're not trying to represent every type of pet-care business.

We specialise in pet and house sitters who care for pets in their owners' own homes.

That's the world I've worked in for 18 years.

After years as a dog walker, Tania now offers both Ultimate and Flexible Care Packages. She shares life with her much-loved Romanian rescue and has a wonderful, down-to-earth personality (and openly admits she has no sense of direction! 😂).

💜 Chris – Clitheroe, Lancashire
With over 12 years' professional pet sitting experience, Chris previously worked as a wildlife guide in South Africa's Kruger National Park and even spent time as a snake catcher! Her passion for animals shines through everything she does.

💜 Andrea – Preston, Lancashire
Andrea combines professional pet sitting with running Deed Not Breed and helping to manage a Spaniel rescue. She is passionate about continuing education and seems to have an endless appetite for dog-related courses!
