Congratulations to Marcus and Rob on passing the Level 3 Award in Fire Door Inspection, delivered by IFI Group 👏

This intensive three-day qualification covers: 
📘 Fire door legislation and compliance requirements
🏢 Compartmentation and life safety principles
🔎 Inspection methodology and defect identification
🛠️ Installation standards and remedial actions
✅ Practical assessment and reporting competency 
It is one of the only available formal qualifications in Fire Door Inspection. While many surveyors rely solely on experience in the field, this award provides assessed, verified technical competence. 
The course has been awarded Recognised Educational Programme status by the Institution of Fire Engineers and is accredited by the Institute of Fire Safety Managers.

🚪 How often should fire doors be inspected?

Fire doors save lives but only if they’re properly maintained.

Residential buildings:

✅ Communal doors – every 3 months

✅ Flat entrance doors – once a year

Commercial/public buildings:

Best practice = every 6 months, or more often in busy areas.

When checking, look out for:

⚠️ Damaged seals or frames

⚠️ Missing signage

⚠️ Faulty closers or hinges

⚠️ Gaps or misalignment

Our accredited team carries out detailed fire door inspections and training, so you can stay compliant and confident your doors will perform when it matters most.
