Ahead of the International Day of Charity, we’re reflecting on one important part of Go Green’s wider social value commitment: supporting charities and community organisations making a difference in the communities around us.

Last year, as part of celebrating 25 years in service, we committed to supporting 25 charities, a pledge that continues to shape our activity throughout 2026. So far this year, we’ve supported 10 charities through fundraising and team-led initiatives, including a charity bake sale, and World Cup sweepstake.

While this is just one part of the broader social value we deliver, it reflects our ongoing commitment to giving back and creating a positive impact beyond the services we provide. Last month, Go Green's Social Value Team spent the day volunteering at Hexthorpe Park's Tiny Forest, supporting the Treescapes Team Doncaster Council with essential maintenance work.

Our task was simple but important: removing thistles and other tall weeds that were blocking light from newly established trees, helping ensure the young forest has the best chance to thrive and outcompete weeds in the years ahead.

It was great to see how much the Tiny Forest has grown since our previous visit in June 2025, when the project was just one year old. Many of the trees, particularly the broom, have made remarkable progress over the last 12 months, highlighting the positive impact of ongoing care and community involvement.

We're proud to support initiatives that enhance local green spaces, improve biodiversity, and create lasting benefits for the communities where we live and work.

🌻 A little update from Mental Health Week!

As part of our wellbeing activities back in May for Mental Health Week, employees from each of our house teams, Crab Apple, Red Wood, Sycamore and Bonsai, planted a sunflower, with points up for grabs for the team that looks after theirs best. It was a simple way to encourage teamwork, wellbeing, and a little time outdoors.
