A look at what we have been up to last week.

Started off the week renewing this border with new half round rails and then a new w**d barrier under the shrubs and finished with bark on top to give it a nice fresh look.

Then we had a hedge near shaftesbury that needed some gaps filled in, a nice wide hedge so had 2 double rows 1 at the back and 1 at the front to help fill the gaps, which will provide the perfect habitat for wildlife to travel up and down and nest in.

A look at one of the hedges I laid last year, this hedge was mainly hazel that had got very thin in the bottom with gaps all the way up through between each plant, by laying it we have filled in all the gaps and the hedge is now a nice dense hedge for birds to nest in and a corridor for animals to move up and down safely.
From laying to its first trim took 6 months for this hedge to recover and explode into life.

A look at what we have been up to over the last couple months, a nice 50 meter stretch of hedgerow laid Dorset style and nearing the end of this 900 meter stretch of hedge planting on top of a hill, all planted to government grant guidlines.

A couple days spent at hazelbury bryan laying this hedge last week the client wanted to get the hedge back under control and laying it is the best way to achieve that. Unfortunatley some of the elm has died from Dutch elm disease so they have been removed.

Finished this 225 meter stretch on Friday morning near frome mainly hazel and hawthorn, first 100 meters had been over run with brambles and ivy now all be cleared out and laid what was still alive, the rest went a bit easier without all the brambles and ivy and a big brash pile by the end of the Job.
