🎄🎶 Christmas Carols at Tanhurst Estate 🍷

Looking for a lovely way to get into the Christmas spirit? Join us at Tanhurst Estate on Tuesday 15th December at 7 pm for a special festive evening with Holmbury St Mary Choral Society.

Returning to the vineyard for the second year running, the choir will perform a selection of much-loved Christmas carols in the beautiful surroundings of the Hither Barn at Tanhurst Estate.

Enjoy an evening of festive music accompanied by a glass of our sparkling Cuvée and a slice of Christmas cake. 🥂

🎟️ Tickets: £10 per person
🎁 Under-18s go free!
❤️ A donation from every ticket will go to the choir’s chosen charity.

🍇 From this year’s harvest to the w**ery!

Our 2026 Pinot Noir grapes are now being processed, marking another exciting stage in this year’s harvest at Tanhurst Estate Vineyard.

There’s plenty of work behind every bottle, and it’s wonderful to see the fruits of our labour making their way towards becoming w**e. We can’t wait to see how this year’s grapes develop! 🍷

🍇 Ever wondered what this rather unusual-looking tool is doing in our w**ery?

It’s called a punch-down tool, and it has a very important job during red w**e fermentation.

As the grapes ferment, carbon dioxide pushes the grape skins, seeds and stems to the surface of the tank, creating a thick layer called the cap.

The punch-down tool is used to push this cap back down into the juice. Why? Because the grape skins contain much of the colour, flavour and tannins we want to extract into the w**e.

And those holes in the circular disc are there for an important reason. They allow the juice to flow through the tool, making it easier to push the heavy grape solids back into the fermenting w**e.

🍷 So, no crushing with feet involved! It’s all about getting the best from the grapes during fermentation.

🍇 Harvest 2026: a very promising year for English w**e 🍷

It’s been a hot and exceptionally dry summer at Tanhurst Estate, and this year’s harvest is already looking very different from last year.

So far, around 7 tonnes of grapes have been picked, including Chardonnay for still w**e and our sparkling Cuvée, Meunier for a Blanc de Noirs, and Précose for red w**e.

There’s still Pinot Noir to come, so the harvest isn’t quite finished yet – but the quality of the grapes picked so far is looking very encouraging.

After many long days in the vineyard and w**ery, we’re looking forward to seeing what this season produces.

Could 2026 be a very special year for English w**e? 🍷

🎄🎭 A Christmas Carol comes to Tanhurst Estate!

There’s something rather magical about enjoying live theatre in the Surrey Hills, and this autumn we’re delighted to welcome This Is My Theatre back to Tanhurst Estate Vineyard with their festive production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

Join us on Thursday 12th November 2026 for this heart-warming and magical one-act adaptation, with performances at 5pm and 7.30pm.

Follow Ebenezer Scrooge as he is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future – with live music, Dickensian charm and plenty of festive spirit along the way. ✨

Come along with family or friends, enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Tanhurst Estate and make an evening of it. Snacks and drinks will be available to purchase before and after each performance.
