Here we have our progress pictures of one of our major works packages at the Metropole on the Leas in Folkestone Kent.

How our story started here at Equip Scaffolding has changed over the years, and it’s truly mind blowing the building of the success, all starting some 38 years ago myself and Ray was actually apprentice on this very project for a company then called SGB both day dreaming that one day we would own our own company never imaging how things would pan out, fast forward to Equip Scaffolding celebrated its 10th year in business, and we’re heading up the scaffolding team carrying out the scaffold works package on site.

It’s a fantastic historic building to work on and a great tribute to how far Equip Scaffolding has grown over the last 10 years.

Another year renewed as competent roofers!

We been very busy other the last couple of weeks with two emergency temporary roofs coming in in the South East of England, one in Bexhill and the other in Maidstone. Both houses were unfortunately hit and seriously damaged by lightning which caused roof fires.🔥

We mobilised a team on each project within two days of getting the call and the sites was deemed safe to start. They have been working tirelessly to get the enclosures finished, and beat any chance of rain getting in and damaging the property even more.

This scaffold has been drilled and bolted to the building, traditionally built with tube and fitting equipment, tin topped with corrugated tin sheets, then the scaffolding has been side sheeted with Big Ben fire retardant vented scaffold sheeting, chosen for its durability and its excellent quality noise reduction in windy or exposed location’s, all to complete the weather protection.

Today the scaffold designer made his visit to checked the structure and start to complete his as built in design and calculations, all with a big thumbs up to the Equip Team 👍👍

Another re-roof started this week whilst the chimneys are being done on our Folkestone Road job.

Re-roof using the salvaged mk1 Delta tiles and ridges.

Little job in Kingsdown, on the agenda here:
Repoint the chimney, install 4 tile vents, re-bed 10 ridge tiles. After the scaffolding has been adapted strip the dormer flat-roof and install a new high performance felt system.
