MURPHY Philip, 2 Rocks Road, Ballyhornan and formerly Four Winds, Carryduff, died peacefully Monday 19 October 2026 in the gentle care of Annadale Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family.

Dearly beloved husband of the late Evelyn, loving father of John, Paula and Gareth, cherished grandfather and father-in-law and much loved brother of Dolores.

Philip is reposing at his son Gareth's residence at 60 Tullyhubbert Road, Ballygowan with the family receiving visitors on Thursday 22 October from 4-9pm.

Philip will leave his son's residence on Friday 23 October at 10am for 11am Requiem Mass in St Mary's Church, Dunsford with interment following in the adjoining family burial ground.

Deeply regretted by his sorrowing children, their spouses, grandchildren, sister Dolores and large circle of family and friends.

It is with profound sadness that we the wife and family of Tony McAllister, Carryduff and formerly Dromara announce his passing on 12th October 2026.

Tony will always be loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.

Tony’s remains will leave his late home 5 Mourneview, Manse Road Carryduff BT8 8BJ on Wednesday 14th October 2026 at 6.15pm to arrive at The Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Carryduff for 7pm.

Requiem Mass will be held at 11am on Thursday 15th October 2026 with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

On his gentle soul sweet Jesus have mercy.

Deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife Ann, children Fiona, Peter and Helen, son in law Jim, daughter in law Kirstie, grandchildren Sean, Ciaran, Aine, Joseph, Anna, and Marcus.

Oliver Cunningham

We the family of the late Oliver Cunningham wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to our friends and neighbours and all who sympathised with and supported us during our recent loss.
We are deeply grateful to all those who sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, messages of condolence and to those who called to the Funeral Home and shared beautiful and funny memories of Oliver. A special thanks to everyone who helped us in any way during this difficult time, and to all who came from near and far to attend Oliver’s funeral mass. Your kindness and support have been a great comfort to us during this extremely difficult time.
We would also like to thank all of those who cared for Oliver including the staff from Lydian Care who have called to the house over the past number of years and to all of the nurses, doctors and consultants in Ward 1 in the Downe Hospital who were so kind to Oliver in the last 2 weeks of his life.
Sincere thanks to Fr Conway for the dignified and personal funeral service and burial and to Deacon Jackie Breen for his support throughout Oliver’s illness. Thanks also to Sarah McVeigh for the beautiful music and singing through the Service. A special thanks to Denvir’s Hotel, Downpatrick for the refreshments following the funeral.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone at Down Funeral Directors in particular Patsy and Stephen for their kindness, compassion and professionalism shown to us during this difficult time.

We, the family of the late Conleith (Con) Fitzsimons wish to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all those who sympathised with us on our sad loss.

Thank you to all who called at our home and sent wishes and helped in any way. Thank you to the Downe Hospital Ward One for the care they gave during Con’s illness and to Dr Glenn’s Practice. Thank you to all the District and Marie Curie nurses who helped look after Con and to all of Con’s friends from Lydian Care who looked after him for over two years. Thank you to all the staff at Ardarragh Day Centre, Downpatrick where Con enjoyed attending over the years and made good friends. Thank you to Father Brankin, Father Gilmore, Father Kearney and Deacon Jackie Breen. Thank you to Bernie Campbell and family for the beautiful music at the service. We also thank everyone at Down Funeral Directors for their compassion and professionalism during this time.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as an expression of our sincere appreciation to all.

CONNOLLY Brian, 16 Abbey Park, Kilkeel died peacefully Sunday 20 September at Daisy Hill Hospital, Newry surrounded by his loving family.

Dearly beloved husband of the late Joyce, loving father of Linda, Tracey, Jennifer, Brian, Tara, Rina and the late James and cherished grandfather.

Brian is reposing at his nephew, Gerard's home, 86 Abbey Park, Kilkeel. Brian will leave his nephew's home on Wednesday 23 September at 10.30am for 11 am Requiem Mass in St Colmans Church, Massforth, Kilkeel with a private family cremation to follow.

SHARVIN (Mary), 2 Fountain Court, Downpatrick, died peacefully on Friday, 4th September 2026, at the Ulster Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Dearly beloved wife of Kieran, loving mother of Teresa, Christopher, John, David and Gary, cherished grandmother of Kynan, Ryan, Ethan, Seamus, Amy and Thomas, much-loved sister of Ronnie, David, Richard, Janet, Sally and Ann.

Mary is reposing in the Chapel of Rest, Down Funeral Directors, 26 John Street, Downpatrick, BT30 6BY, with the family in attendance daily from 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm.

Mary’s funeral service will take place in the Chapel of Rest, Down Funeral Directors, on Tuesday at 11:00 am, followed by interment in Struell Cemetery.

17 Drumcloon Walk, Downpatrick, died peacefully on Tuesday 1st September 2026 at Downe Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Dearly beloved husband of Anne, loving father of Stephen, John, Ciaran and James, cherished grandfather of Leigh, Rhys, Erin, Caoimhe and Ellie, much loved brother of Winnie and treasured father-in-law of Tracey and Eadaoin.

Oliver is reposing in the Chapel of Rest, Down Funeral Directors, 26 John Street, Downpatrick, BT30 6BY, with the family in attendance today, Wednesday 2nd September, from 7.00pm to 9.00pm and tomorrow, Thursday 3rd September, from 2.00pm to 8.00pm.

Oliver will leave the funeral home on Friday 4th September at 9.30am for Requiem Mass at 10.00am in St Patrick’s Church, Downpatrick, with interment afterwards in Struell Cemetery.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sorrowing family and friends.

We, the family of the late Anne Curran wish to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks and appreciation to our friends, and neighbours and all who sympathised with and supported us during our recent loss.

We are deeply grateful to all those who sent food, mass cards, sympathy cards, messages of condolences, and to those who called at the house and shared beautiful and funny memories of Anne. A special thanks to everyone who helped us in any way during this difficult time, and to all who came from near and far to attend Anne’s funeral. Your kindness and support have been a great comfort to us during this extremely difficult time.

We would also like to thank all those who cared for Anne including; The staff at Kings Castle care home, Ardglass Doctors surgery, and staff from the Ulster & Downe Hospitals for their dedication and kindness to Anne and the family throughout her illness. Words cannot describe how much we appreciate them.

Sincere thanks to Fr McCloskey, Canon Rogan and Fr McKay for the dignified and moving service they conducted, and to Sarah McVeigh for the beautiful singing at the funeral mass. A special thanks to Curran's Restaurant, Chapeltown for the refreshments following the funeral.
