CUNNINGHAM (Oliver)
17 Drumcloon Walk, Downpatrick, died peacefully on Tuesday 1st September 2026 at Downe Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Dearly beloved husband of Anne, loving father of Stephen, John, Ciaran and James, cherished grandfather of Leigh, Rhys, Erin, Caoimhe and Ellie, much loved brother of Winnie and treasured father-in-law of Tracey and Eadaoin.

Oliver is reposing in the Chapel of Rest, Down Funeral Directors, 26 John Street, Downpatrick, BT30 6BY, with the family in attendance today, Wednesday 2nd September, from 7.00pm to 9.00pm and tomorrow, Thursday 3rd September, from 2.00pm to 8.00pm.

Oliver will leave the funeral home on Friday 4th September at 9.30am for Requiem Mass at 10.00am in St Patrick’s Church, Downpatrick, with interment afterwards in Struell Cemetery.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sorrowing family and friends.

ANNE CURRAN

We, the family of the late Anne Curran wish to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks and appreciation to our friends, and neighbours and all who sympathised with and supported us during our recent loss.

We are deeply grateful to all those who sent food, mass cards, sympathy cards, messages of condolences, and to those who called at the house and shared beautiful and funny memories of Anne. A special thanks to everyone who helped us in any way during this difficult time, and to all who came from near and far to attend Anne’s funeral. Your kindness and support have been a great comfort to us during this extremely difficult time.

We would also like to thank all those who cared for Anne including; The staff at Kings Castle care home, Ardglass Doctors surgery, and staff from the Ulster & Downe Hospitals for their dedication and kindness to Anne and the family throughout her illness. Words cannot describe how much we appreciate them.

Sincere thanks to Fr McCloskey, Canon Rogan and Fr McKay for the dignified and moving service they conducted, and to Sarah McVeigh for the beautiful singing at the funeral mass. A special thanks to Curran's Restaurant, Chapeltown for the refreshments following the funeral.

We also extend our sincere thanks to everyone at Down Funeral Directors in particular Patsy and Stephen for their kindness, compassion and professionalism shown to us during this difficult time.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as an expression of our sincere appreciation to all.

HAUGHEY, Eddie (11 Lough Moss Park, Carryduff) died peacefully on Saturday 29th August 2026 at The Mater Hospital, Belfast surrounded by his loving family.

Dearly beloved husband of Margaret and loving father of John, Ian and Gareth. Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Annie, Ella, Paul, Katie-Jane and Gabriella. Much loved father in law of Kirsty and Tandy Jane.

Eddie is reposing at his residence with family in attendance from 2pm - 8pm on Monday 31st August 2026. Eddie will leave his residence on Tuesday 1st September 2026 at 11.30 am for 12 noon Requiem Mass in the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Drumbo with interment following in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife, children, grandchildren, daughters in law and large circle of family and friends.

FITZSIMONS Conleith (Con), 43 Blackcauseway Road, Strangford died peacefully Thursday 27 August at home surrounded by his loving family.

Dearly beloved husband of Patricia, loving father of Dean, Shireen, Connie and Lee and cherished grandfather of Aoife, Caitlin, Lorcan, Cody and Ruairi, loving father-in-law of Nuala and son-in-law Justin and cherished son of Terence and Madeline and much loved brother of Ignatius and the late Terence.

Conleith will repose at his residence until 10.30am on Saturday 29th August when he will leave for 11am Requiem Mass in St Malachy's Church, Kilclief with interment following in the adjoining family burial ground. St Christopher intercede for him. Deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife, children, their partners Nuala, Justin and Gary, grandchildren, parents, brother and large circle of family and friends.

We, the family of the late Gerry McCashin RIP, would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised with us on the sad loss of our much-loved father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Thank you to Fr Aidan Brankin PP for making himself available to support us throughout the wake and for celebrating the funeral mass.
Thank you also to Deacon Jackie Breen for his prayers at the funeral home.
A special word of thanks to Patsy Fitzsimons and Stephen Morgan, funeral directors, for their kind support at the time of the bereavement and for the professional and caring manner in which they conducted all the funeral arrangements.
Thank you to Kayleigh McPolin for her beautiful and dignified singing at the funeral mass and for the representatives of Scouting Ireland Downpatrick for the thoughtful guard of honour outside the church.
We would also like to thank all the staff in the Green Surgery, the Downe and Ulster Hospitals and Killyleagh Surgery who looked after Daddy in his final years. We are particularly grateful to the staff of Bardan Cottage, Newcastle and all the ladies from Down Community Care who cared for him so well and always went the extra mile to make sure all his needs were met!
Special thanks also to all his friends and family who visited him so loyally over the past few years. He looked forward to all your visits!

CURRAN Anne, 46 Sheepland Road, Dunsford, Ardglass died peacefully Monday 3 August in the gentle care of Kings Castle Nursing Home, Ardglass surrounded by her loving family.

Dearly beloved wife of Maurice, loving mother of Margo, Michael, Maria, Roisin and Cathrine and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, and much loved sister of Joan, Margo, Rosemary, Colette, Sheila, Frances and Billy.

Anne is reposing at her residence until 9.45 am on Thursday 6 August when she will leave for 10am Requiem Mass in St Mary's Church, Dunsford with interment following in the adjoining family burial ground.
Family and friends are welcome at her late residence between 12-8pm.

Deeply regretted by her sorrowing husband, children, sons-in-law Andrew, Jonny and Jamie and daughter-in-law Catherine, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters and brother and large circle of family and friends.

Dearly beloved husband of Anne, loving father of Caroline, Declan, Rosaleen, Niall and Colum and cherished grandfather of Michael, Bran, Sebastian, Eben, Cara, Saoirse and Dylan.

Adrian is reposing in the Chapel of Rest at Down Funeral Directors, 26 John Street, Downpatrick, BT30 6BY with the family in attendance daily from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm.

Adrian will leave the funeral home at 10.15 am on Wednesday 5 August for 11am Requiem Mass in St Patrick's Church, Saul with interment following in the adjoining family burial ground.

Seamus Cunningham

We, the family of the late Seamus Cunningham would like to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all those who sympathised with them on the very sad loss of a much loved husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law and brother.

Thank you to Very Rev. Fr. Derek Kearney SMA for his support and prayers throughout the wake and also celebrating Seamus's Requiem Mass. Thank you also to Rev. Fr. Thomas Hampton who concelebrated the Mass and to Deacon Jackie Breen and Terry Andrews for their prayers in the house.
