A challenging site? Absolutely.
An impossible job? Not with the right team. 👊

This large tree had been flagged as causing issues with the surrounding sandstone wall and homes, while standing alongside a busy pedestrian and vehicle route.

Our team carefully planned and carried out the complete removal, keeping safety and site management at the forefront throughout.

Big tree. Busy route, surrounding gardens and homes? We answer that with professional planning, specialist equipment, traffic management and a safe, efficient removal.

Why you don’t always need to rush to remove that tree stump…

We offer expert tree removal and stump grinding but sometimes leaving the stump behind can bring surprising benefits to your garden.

🐞 A haven for wildlife - tree stumps provide shelter and food source for insects, fungi, beetles, birds and other beneficial wildlife. As the wood slowly decomposes, it becomes part of thriving mini ecosystem.

⛲️ A natural garden feature - A stump can be transformed into a beautiful focal point (pictured). Decorate it with pots, plant in the top, carve it into a seat, create a rustic display or let moss and wildflowers naturally colonise it for a woodland feel.

🌱 Supporting biodiversity - deadwood is one of the most valuable habitats in nature. By keeping a stump, you’re helping support the countless species that rely on decaying wood to survive.

Our team recently completed essential tree surgery and site clearance works at a property that had been on the market for some time in Warwickshire.

With our machinery and equipment on site, we were able to efficiently tackle overgrown areas, carry out necessary tree work and leave the grounds looking tidy, safe and ready for its next chapter & new owners.

Whether you’re selling a property, purchasing a new home or simply looking to bring your outdoor space back under control, our experienced team can help with all aspects of tree surgery and vegetation management.

Precision, control, and experience in every cut 🌳

Here’s our operative, Ollie, safely processing timber on-site—turning larger sections into manageable logs with care and efficiency.

Working at ground level is just as important as the work in the canopy. It’s all part of leaving your space clean, tidy, and ready to enjoy.

Professional tree care from start to finish.

Big shout out to the team up Coventry way for getting to this so quickly! Sad day to be a Range Rover ☹️

This is a perfect example of how even healthy looking trees can become hazards when ignored.

Should the tree have been removed long before this, or could the tree have been reduced into surrounding canopy lines to prevent extreme wind sail?

Absolutely.

Did it become a hazard?

Definitely.

We’re just thankful there was no pedestrians nearby when it came down! 😮‍💨

🌳 Why Good Communication Matters on Site 🌳

In tree work, clear communication between the climber and the ground crew isn’t just helpful — it’s essential. Knowing exactly when a cut is being made, where timber is going, or when to hold off can make all the difference to keeping everyone safe and the job running smoothly.

At Jack Cotterill Tree Services, we’ve taken another step forward by improving how our teams communicate on site. We now use Bluetooth communication units across our crews, allowing climbers and ground staff to stay in constant, hands-free contact — even in loud or busy environments.

This means less shouting, fewer hand signals, and no second-guessing. Just clear instructions, better teamwork, and a safer, more efficient worksite from start to finish.

It’s another way we’re investing in our team, our safety standards, and the quality of work we deliver every day. 🌲
