🚀 Start Up South Final 2026

Yesterday we celebrated the incredible talent coming through our region at the Start Up South Final!

Nine finalists from Borders College, SRUC Barony Campus and Dumfries and Galloway College pitched their ideas to a panel of expert judges - showcasing innovation, creativity and real entrepreneurial ambition.

🏆 Huge congratulations to winner Jenna McRoberts (Borders College), whose inclusive beauty business is designed to bring high-quality treatments directly to those who face barriers accessing traditional salons.

An inspiring day all round - we can’t wait to see what comes next for these brilliant ideas.

Start Up South is an initiative designed to nurture entrepreneurial thinking and innovation among students and staff, supporting participants to develop business ideas alongside their studies while building real-world enterprise skills, confidence, and the ability to present to industry professionals.
