Looking forward to being the "gamemaster" behind this upcoming wargame campaign. It is open-ended, so pretty much anything could happen once the big decisions start being made. My job will be to try to keep everything within the realms of historical plausibility!

I'll be there, giving a presentation about Charles Edward Stuart's role in the Battle of Falkirk.

Full family effort today as we stepped back to 1897. My task was to lead a recreation of the opening ceremony of the Town Hall in Prestonpans, with the original speeches given once more from the platform on which they were delivered 125 years ago. It is always a privilege to stand in the footsteps of those who have gone before and give voice once more to their words.
A chance to "re-witness" an event from the past can be far more effective than written interpretation.
