Happiness is a new pair of wellies. My old pair, which have been my outdoor winter footwear of choice for the past 5 years, sprung a leak a couple of weeks ago, leading to wet cold feet.
A new pair was required and it made me think about the purchasing decision and how Personality affects how we buy things. Personal purchases are a little different to business purchases, as there is more heart involved, but a lot of the same principles hold:
π΅ My Blue energy approach started with making a list of the features that are important to me in wellies (long boots, warm, quality that will last) then researched which boots ticked all the boxes. I read reviews and finally decided on a pair. Then I checked several suppliers to compare prices before finally clicking the Buy button.
π΄ A Red energy approach would be much quicker. Review requirements, find some that fit the bill, quick comparison of price, purchase on next day delivery and go out for a walk.
π‘ Yellow energy purchasers will check out some exciting new possible solutions and may end up going for something completely new and different. Their search will not be limited to wellies, but other footwear that will look good on a dog walk. Then they will see a completely different pair of wellies looking good on social media and buy those.
π’ Finally the Green welly purchaser will start by asking others for their opinions on the best wellies for the job. They will do their research will start with the brand that has done well for them in the past, lasted longest and the ones that come recommended by trusted friends. Reviews will influence the decision and the Green will seek confirmation that they have made the right decision before clicking Buy.
Iβm pleased to report that my wellies have been on several dog walks and are now covered in mud, as all good wellies should be.
