Green light week!

Just like busses we have secured planning consent this week for three diverse projects all in Fife.

12 woodland cabins to be sited in the historic grounds of Balbirnie House Hotel Markinch ✅

8 business units and a bakery shop to come forward at Admiralty Rosyth for WM Stephen ✅

Pump track cycle facility for all ages in Dalgety Bay for Dalgety Community Trust. ✅

The wheels are in motion for a new £370,000 pump track in Dalgety Bay after a planners gave it the green light.

Really pleased to have led and secured planning permission for Eastern Western Motor Group.

As my home town I always like to influence change and renewal for Dundee. As a young lad I bought a pair of Levi’s from this very site and well, I quite like the look of the Lexus so you never know my next EV maybe from here!

After a long major development planning application process (18 months - throughout 2 lockdowns), we are pleased Fife Council has approved a planning application for Nature's Nook Ltds first outdoor education centre, at Glenrothes, Fife.

This will provide an outdoor space for an inclusive learning facility where visitors can attend and enhance spiritual, mental and physical
capabilities. Environmental awareness and sustainability will be at the core of the learning opportunities on offer. The site will provide a new enclosed woodland to allow for safe, free flow play and for more structured sessions with teachers.

The project will regenerate 2Ha of scrub land and restore native woodland.

Edinburgh may shortly be the first to designate its Short Term Let Control Area - remarkably proposing that the entire City is included.

Over the last 18 months we have been advising nearly 40 small businesses who have been up and running with holiday let use of their dwellings or flats - some over 10 years, others less than 2 years. They needed advice and guidance to prepare for the new laws.

Most are in "hot spot" and likely-to-be Control Areas soon. We have proactively presented their case to planning authorities and successfully secured Full Planning Permission or Certificates of Lawful Use to allow these businesses to continue unfettered.

Another virtual online public consultation ahead, 5th August. We think this major development proposal is very unique.

We are pleased to be advising Nature's Nook Ltd to help them create a unique outdoor education learning nursery at a beautiful location just north of Glenrothes, heading to the Lomond Hills in Fife.

The concept is to replant several acres of new woodland as part of the nursery's learning programme and to lead on the innovative outdoor use of the site itself.

These all fit brilliantly with the Scottish Government's encouragement for learning to keep safe and socially distance more outdoors.

Very pleased to have supported British Land PLC owners of Dougalston Golf Course, Milngavie in a Webinar today - delivering proposals for future development of the land in the longer term.

Excited to be supporting Andrew Black Design to advance planning pre-application and PAN for another major regeneration project in Dundee.

Locarno Works (with distinctive red brick chimney) on the edge of Blackness Economic Development Area and close to the City Centre and University Campuses will provide new employment and commercial uses. When mixed with new accommodation it will bring new vibrancy to this neglected area.

Next up, a public consultation going digital online under new Coronavirus Act emergency procedures.

Stocking fillers...With a Mad rush today.

- 2 planning applications submitted-oddly for a development spanning 2 planning authorities. With 16 flats proposed in Harthill West Lothian / and North Lanarkshire

- one refusal for a place of worship in Perthshire which blots the high approvals stats! grrr. Nobody’s perfect!

- one approval for a new industrial building in Perth-expansion plans made

- another approval for 15 family homes in Renfrewshire - variety and choice

- and a very impressive discharge of conditions submission, that enables construction start on the new year day back for one satisfied hospitality client

thanks to all clients, associates, council officers, and everyone in between, for your good wishes this year and helping make it all fun, successful and most of all: worth planning for.

Great to pick up this long-sleeping project. It’s the old Craigtoun Hospital at St Andrews. Previous plans for a boutique hotel since expired, brazen roofers thieving lead and slate is costing the owner significant sums, just to secure wind and water.

It’s a Building at Risk but huge potential. Pre planning conversations begin.

It’s also believed to be haunted!

Delighted to be leading this project for T in the Park owners. I suspect we have a council eager to stop it happening owing to that gas pipeline!

T in the Park's beloved Balado site could be transformed into a hub for outdoor pursuits and aviation enthusiasts.
