Just a few days of the summer holidays left and as much as I love the summer I also love this time of year and treat it like a mini 'new years'. A time to reflect on where my business is so far, what my goals have been this year and what I still have to do.

Its that time of year when we still have time to adjust and rejig our plans if we need to to in order to finish the year on target- or even ahead!

So whether you are counting down the days for the kids to go back to school or its just another week, take some time to reflect and plan how you want to finish 2025... don't forget those personal goals too!

Whatever stage of your business there are a few things that really need to be top of your list:

💻 Websites.
📬 Emails.
🧾 Systems and spreadsheets.

You don’t need to do all the things — but you do need somewhere online where people can find you, trust you, and use your services. You cannot rely on social media alone; firstly because the way the algorithms work VERY few people actually see your content and secondly you don't own platforms like Facebook and they can go down, be hacked or shut you down at anytime- I've had it happen and trust me it's a nightmare for business!

I’m currently building out two new websites — one for my physio clients which will be a revamp and upgrade on the old one and one for my online business for animal therapists like you — to host downloads, share content, and so you can access any courses etc you sign up to.

So what do you need to prioritise on that list? Email list? Automated reminders? Website?

Why did I create a course?

When I started out as a veterinary physiotherapist I had no clue about running a business and it showed! From the outside it looked great, I was getting clients, I was making money and I was doing the job I loved.

But behind the scenes my diary was an unorganised mess, I had no workalike balance, I didnt understand accounting or my taxes, I was drowning in debt and couldn't see how I was going to make this my full time job.

I spent many many months reading, listening to podcasts, doing online courses, getting information from many sources to learn and implement what I learnt. It worked and I put things into practice. I left the NHS and grew my business which now enables me to spend more time with my family and all the animals we have accumulated along the way. It helps support my horse and car hobbies and I can afford to take time off to go abroad a few times a year.

But I could have got to this place so much faster if I knew all I did now in the first place. I knew I could help other people and has this desire within me to do so. So I created a business start up course with all of the key topics to help animal therapists set up and grow great businesses from everything I have learnt over the years.
