A powerful new exhibition exploring how conflict has shaped the people and places of County Durham is now open.

A Debt Beyond Words focuses on the experiences of those connected to the Durham Light Infantry (DLI), as well as examining the wider experience of war and its impact on families and communities back home.

It is the latest temporary exhibition to be staged at The Story Durham, Durham County Council’s culture and registration venue on the outskirts of Durham City.

The first video looks at our Taste Durham initiative, and how we have worked to strengthen, grow and differentiate the county’s food and drink offer - a sector now worth £540m and which supports over 5,000 jobs.
