Our team provides consultancy services and is credited with saving numerous pools under threat of closure. Leisure Training & Consultancy North East have been a providing high quality and professional training in the North East and Yorkshire for over 20 years. We offer a wide range of courses to suit the needs of our clients.

Course 1 - Saturdays and Sundays, 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 24th and 25th October 2026 (6 days)

Longfield Academy of Sport, Longfield Road, Darlington, DL3 0HT.
Course Fee: £295.00 per person

*** 8 UCAS POINTS on successful completion of assessment***

For some NPLQ courses, day 1 may be taught using Zoom/Teams remotely to cut down travelling for candidates.

***RLSS Pool Lifeguard Trainer/Assessor Course***

Monday 21st to Friday 25th September 2026 (5days)
Redcar Leisure Centre, Ridley St, Redcar TS10 1TD
9.00am to 5.30pm each day
£720 per candidate (incl VAT)

Course run by highly experienced National Trainer/Assessor with extensive knowledge of both the leisure industry and emergency services.

The venue is a well presented leisure centre with excellent facilities, close to local amenities. Cheap nearby parking is available and there are good public transport links. Redcar Leisure Centre is next door to Redcar Central station, with direct rail links to York, Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle. See Northern for some cheap tickets and train times.

This course is operated by LTC North East Ltd - a highly rated Approved Training Provider with an award winning team of excellent tutors.

Well.... it's been a very busy July and August for our National Pool Lifeguard Qualification trainers. In July and August 144 candidates have successfully passed their NPLQ with us.... each attending a five day course and sitting an assessment at the end.

It has been a pleasure to work with different venues, and as always we received a lovely welcome at each one

We have also been delivering a range of other courses as well as NPLQ, but we haven't quite finished woth more to run this coming week....so the final summer total is still to come!

Yet another ongoing lifeguard training and competency session completed at Gateshead Leisure Centre which is one centre for which we provide regular staff training.

In order to work on the pool, lifeguards do two hours training each month, covering facility operations, CPR, first aid skills, pool rescues and spinal injury work.

We provide training for several pools and quite a few swim schools and swimming clubs as well as schools, universities and colleges. If your organisation requires training for your staff teams, why not get in touch and see if we can help?!

Yesterday we were working with the staff from Whitley Bay Swim School for their STA Level 2 Pool Water Testing course.
