Momentum continues to build behind the Trust UK C16 Timber campaign.

Led by BSW Timber, James Jones & Sons and Glennon Brothers, and working alongside Confor and TDUK, the campaign is continuing to strengthen its engagement with the construction and design community.

Recent activity has brought architects, engineers and other industry experts into the conversation, helping build greater understanding of how UK-grown C16 timber can support resilient supply chains, the UK economy and lower-carbon construction.

With further industry engagement already planned, the case for specifying more UK-grown timber continues to grow.

binderholz, of which BSW Timber is a member, has once again been ranked as Europe’s leading softwood sawn timber producer.

The latest Holzkurier survey places binderholz firmly in first position for 2026, with a production volume exceeding 5 million m³.

The ranking reflects the scale, capability and continued investment across the group, as well as a strong outlook for further growth within the European timber industry.

A significant achievement, and one that reinforces the strength of the wider group.

We’re hiring: Harvesting Production Planner

At Tilhill Forestry and BSW Group, our strength lies in the way our people, knowledge and services are connected.

This role is a great example of that in practice by bringing together planning, harvesting operations, logistics and supply chain coordination to support the safe and efficient movement of timber from forest to market.

As Harvesting Production Planner, you’ll help coordinate machinery, people, schedules and site requirements across multiple harvesting operations, working closely with teams throughout the business to keep things running smoothly.

Based from Cargo, Carlisle or Beattock, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with planning, logistics or transferable operational experience to develop their career within one of the UK’s leading forestry and timber businesses.

You’ll be joining a knowledgeable and supportive team where clear communication, organisation and problem solving make a real difference for our operations, clients and customers.

We’re proud to see BSW Timber working alongside James Jones & Sons, Glennon Brothers and Confor to help champion the use of UK C16 timber.

We are delighted to announce the establishment of a unique partnership with James Jones & Sons and Glennon Brothers, in conjunction with Confor, as we join forces to champion UK timber and reduce our reliance on imported materials.

In an industry first, the UK’s three largest sawmilling businesses have teamed up to promote the use of domestically grown and manufactured timber, through a landmark collaboration backed by Minister for Nature, Mary Creagh.

The Minister said: "Our Plan for Change is focussed on creating new, green jobs, planting more trees, increasing access to nature and reducing carbon emissions.

"We currently import 80% of the timber we use and that needs to change.

"Our Timber in Construction Roadmap and the C16 campaign will boost the use of British timber to help build the homes and schools we need faster and more sustainably."
