Recent Repairs Completed 👌🏻

From washing machine door seals, motor brushes, dampers and blocked sumps, to tumble dryer belts and Miele moisture sensor brushes…

We’ve also been busy replacing oven fan motors and fan elements, carrying out microwave diagnostics, and completing a dishwasher heater replacement which required alterations due to the original heater being discontinued.

A good mix of repairs completed recently across a range of domestic appliances 👌

☀️ Annual Leave Notice

Jack’s Appliance Repair & Installations Ltd will be closed for annual leave from Friday 24th July and will reopen on Monday 3rd August.

Appointments before my holiday are now limited, so if you require a repair, please get in touch as soon as possible.

Please note that appointments booked in the run-up to my annual leave may be subject to parts availability. Where I believe a repair is likely to require ordered parts, I’ll advise you before booking so you can decide whether you’d prefer to proceed or wait until I return.

A close call today! 👀💦

Called out today to investigate a noisy dishwasher wash motor. Unfortunately, after diagnosis it was confirmed that the wash motor has been discontinued by the manufacturer, making the appliance uneconomical to repair.

While removing the dishwasher, I noticed the adjacent washing machine’s inlet hose had developed a large bulge and was at serious risk of bursting.

Fortunately, I had the correct replacement hose stocked on the van and was able to replace it immediately, preventing what could have been a significant water leak and costly damage.

It’s a good reminder that sometimes it’s the fault you weren’t called out for that could have caused the biggest problem.

❄️ Another Successful Fridge Freezer Repair! ❄️

Called out to a fridge freezer suffering from severe ice build-up.

After carrying out a full diagnosis, I identified a puncture in the main defrost heater. This prevented the appliance from completing its automatic defrost cycle, leading to excessive ice accumulation.

A replacement defrost heater was ordered, fitted and fully tested. The appliance is now operating correctly once again.

If your fridge freezer is constantly icing up or struggling to maintain temperature, don’t ignore it. In many cases, the underlying fault can be repaired, saving the cost of a replacement.

🔧 Another appliance given another chance! 👨‍🔧

Today’s repair was a Bosch integrated dishwasher that had stopped draining.

After carrying out a full diagnosis, the fault was traced to a failed drain pump. A new pump was supplied and fitted, followed by full testing to ensure everything was working correctly.

✅ Draining restored
✅ Fully tested
✅ Customer back up and running

Don’t replace your appliance before having it checked – many faults can be repaired for a fraction of the cost of a new one.

Today we replaced a worn and split door seal on a Hotpoint washing machine, restoring a proper watertight seal and preventing leaks.

A damaged door seal can cause:
✅ Water leaks
✅ Unpleasant odours from trapped dirt and mould
✅ Clothing becoming caught in the seal
✅ Damage to flooring if left unresolved
