Although βT**s Upβ is focused on the seriousness of breast cancer, ultimately it is a story about friendship, resilience and hope using humour to explore the importance of relationships formed during life-threatening circumstances. Our play focuses on four ladies from vastly different backgrounds who all end up in the same place at the same time with the same problems.
Actors and writers, Alison Stanley and Leah Bell star in βT**s Upβ alongside a bright young newcomer, Katie Rose Potts and Liverpool legend Crissy Rock.
Crissy herself is a cancer survivor and feels the play hits a very real nerve perfectly reflecting how a cancer diagnosis impacts not just yourself but also the entire family.
Crissy says that βT**s Upβ conveys the warmth, honesty and sincerity needed when life throws a curve ball. In times like this, we all rely on each other for support and the much-needed tonic of laughter.
Alison and Leah, feel they have created something very special which comes over during each performance as they stand on stage watching the audience laugh, cry, then laugh again, it is both humbling and heartwarming.
βAlthough breast cancer is a huge part of the story, βT**s Upβ isnβt a play that leaves an audience feeling heavy of heart. There is plenty of laughter, warmth, honesty and a lot of truth which makes the story so relatable.β
βT**s Upβ premiered in the Northeast during March 2025, where the audience response helped make the decision to move into larger venues and this October βT**s Upβ is embarking on its first UK tour which will take the production beyond its roots and to audiences across the country.
