I love starting new things... new ideas are exciting and there are endless possibilities.

I don't always enjoy the work to get things finished.
That's something I really have to pay attention to.

But it's worth finding a way that works for you to get across the finish line.
Whether it’s sending the email, actually making the decision or finally uploading the file.
The gap is often way smaller in reality than in your mind.

After all, open loops take up way more energy than closed ones.

So, I'm using my pause for tea today (Royal Earl Grey since you ask) to get clear on the last step for my Tea For Mindfulness workshop. I'm off to set a 20 minute timer and get it finished.

If you’d like my guided pause for tea to help you close a loop listen to episode #69 of The Tea Mind podcast.

Your mind will feel the difference.

Your life can look right on paper and still feel wrong in your body.

It can be a confusing place to find yourself.
You’re doing what you should do, keeping all the plates spinning and holding it together.
But a part of you has lost it's spark.

In Hannah Buchan’s case, the shift started with one frustrated sentence in the kitchen:
“I just want to feel alive.”

That was her clue.
For the first time, she had something real to work with.

So you don't need to blow up your whole life.
Just pause for tea and ask yourself:
“What would help me feel a little more alive today?”

You can hear Hannah's episode on The Tea Mind podcast wherever you listen. Enjoy ✨️

Most people don’t remember drinking their tea.

It disappears into activity…

But in honour of the Spring Equinox, gift yourself a few minutes.
Brew some tea (I’m brewing White Peach today), watch the steam rise.
Notice that for a moment, nothing needs fixing or improving.

What is already enough right now?
Feel what that feels like.

Listen to the latest Tea Mind podcast for a guided Tea Pause.

Happy solstice…

Sometimes keeping life simple feels like a full-time job.

Complexity creeps in and suddenly everything feels heavier than it needs to be.

I’m very good at adding extra steps and raising my own expectations.

So this week’s Tea Pause is a reminder to myself - and perhaps to you too.

Brew a tea you feel drawn to
I’m enjoying Genmaicha at the moment.

As your tea brews, let things settle and ask yourself:
What in my life is already enough that I keep overlooking?

Notice what already supports you.

Notice what is already working for you.

Then ask one more question:

If I focused on one meaningful thing today, what would it be?

Let that guide your day.

I've been celebrating International Women’s Day hard this week!

On Thursday I was at the Women on Top event at with the incredible . Her words bring comfort, joy and peace to so many - myself included.

Huge thanks to and the brilliant EGG team for organising such a wonderful event.

A room filled with 200+ women connecting, supporting and lifting each other up is quite something.

My favourite line from Donna:
"The word ‘ready’ has squashed more dreams than any other word."

Such a powerful reminder.

Great start to Thursday celebrating International Women’s Day with Thomas Co at the showroom.

Loved the Q&A on wellness, travel and looking after ourselves with
Laura Thomas (note to self: walk barefoot outside more often),wilson of The Dundonald Guesthouse & Mercat Cafe (I may start ironing my PJs now!),
and presenter – who reminded me to have more little adventures, even close to home.

Also… excellent coffee from
And lovely to meet so many new faces.

I'm so happy to be finally able to bring you a new way to enjoy your pause for tea!

On Sunday 29 March, we’re collaborating with in Granton for our first Sauna & Tea Meditation - a seasonal gathering to welcome spring with clarity and intention.

We’ll begin on the beach with a guided meditation featuring Jasmine Pearls green tea, traditionally associated with renewal and fresh perspective.

From there, we’ll move into the warmth of the sauna for a slow, restorative session weaving together heat, sound and stillness. Between rounds, we’ll cool outdoors with cold-brewed tea before returning to warmth.

It’s a small, considered gathering. Spaces are limited, and once they’re filled we won’t be expanding the group.

If this feels like the right way to mark the season, you can reserve your place at the link in bio.

Sunday 29 March 2026
10am–12pm
Soul Water Sauna, Granton, Edinburgh
£43

Places are limited.

Pleased to learn my “four cups of tea a day” habit might be doing more than keeping me going.

Inflammation rarely feels urgent - until it does.

A narrative review in Food & Nutrition Sciences pulled together evidence from 22 papers (including clinical trials) on black tea and inflammatory markers. Regular black tea, with or without milk, was linked with improved markers, especially in people who started with higher levels.

Obviously not a fix, but nice to know that a daily habit may be quietly supporting you in the background.

Are you on four cups a day?

I'm on the hunt for people that run their own business, creators and companies of one... able to travel to East Lothian.

People that want to meet others but in a calm, outdoor space where you can hear yourself think...

People craving conversation that’s calm, thoughtful, and unhurried.

I'm relatively new to East Lothian so I'm hosting my first Tea Mind Gathering...

It’s a monthly outdoor meet-up for founders, creators, and companies of one. We meet in nature across East Lothian, begin and end with tea, and spend the time walking (or sitting) and talking at an easy pace.

There’s no agenda, no pitching, and no pressure to introduce yourself or explain what you do unless you want to. You can join in as much or as little as feels right.

The first gathering is Wednesday 25 February 2026 at Whitesands Beach.

If you want a place to think out loud without having to perform, come along.

Book on Eventbrite (see bio) - places are limited.

P.s. would really love it if you could share with anyone who might be interested 😊

Don’t feel guilty for keeping hours that work for you.

This January reminded me that discipline doesn’t have to mean pressure.
Lately, I’ve been starting slow - with tea, a notebook, and one question:
What 3 tasks would make today feel like a success?

I tackle one hard thing early, then get outside while there’s still light.
That bit of movement and fresh air makes the rest of the day feel lighter.

Sleep is non-negotiable.
Everything works better when I’m rested.

I’m more productive when I stop copying routines and start paying attention to what actually works for me.

What’s one small shift that would change your day?

I’ve been noticing how easy it is for the pace to creep up again.
Not burnout. Just always moving.

That noticing is what led me to create A Day to Return.

It’s a one-day, in-person Tea Mind immersion in Edinburgh for founders and leaders who want to slow down and come back to themselves, without fixing or optimising anything.

The day centres on tea, stillness, and gentle guidance. There’s no pressure to share and no expectation to perform. You choose how you participate.

It’s one day, with light follow-through support afterward, so the steadiness you access has a chance to hold when work speeds up again.

If slowing down feels more useful than pushing forward right now, this is for you.
