Thinking about solar but not sure you want to go all in on day one? Good news, you have options. 🌞

Can you add more panels later? Usually yes, as long as your inverter has some headroom. But if your system is already maxed out, or you've crossed into the next connection bracket with the network, you might need a bigger inverter or even a new grid application.

That's why we always ask about your future plans. More EVs? A heat pump down the line? We design with room to grow, so you're never boxed in.

Fresh install in Penicuik! This customer moved into a brand new house that didn't come with quite enough solar, so we fitted a 6kW Duracell inverter alongside a 16kWh battery. By charging overnight, they're now running their home for around 75% less. It's a great example of how the right storage setup can make a real difference, even on a newer property.

If you're curious whether battery storage could work for your home, request your free quote online at renew-able.co.uk and our team will be in touch to talk through the options.

Too hot, too cold, never quite right? 🥶🥵

Most of us switch the heating off when we leave and blast it when we get back. A heat pump works differently. It adjusts to the weather outside and keeps your home at a steady temperature, so you're always comfortable.

It's efficient, quiet and can last 15 to 20 years with a yearly service.

Fresh install in Edinburgh today. ⚡ Ohme Home Pro, 7.2kW.

This one's a favourite for anyone on a smart energy tariff (think Octopus Intelligent and similar), it talks directly to your tariff and automatically schedules charging for the cheapest, off-peak hours. Got solar? Its Solar Boost feature will charge your car from your own excess power first.

Compact, weatherproof, and controlled entirely from your phone. One of the smartest chargers we fit.

Why do heat pump quotes vary so much in size?

Often it comes down to how the home was assessed. Sizing from floor plans alone can mean a system that's too big or too small, and that affects comfort, running costs and lifespan.

At Renew-Able Solutions, our team carries out a full 3D survey of every home and calculates the exact heat loss before recommending a system. In this install, the home needed 6.2kW on the coldest day, so we fitted a quiet, efficient 7kW unit.

Proper design makes all the difference.

🔋 A serious amount of energy storage installed in Inverness!

Yesterday our engineers fitted this Sunsynk 8kW hybrid inverter with two Fogstar 16.1kWh batteries, providing approximately 32.2kWh of total battery storage.

The customer can charge the batteries overnight on Intelligent Octopus Go and use that lower-cost energy throughout the day. With the off-peak rate substantially below daytime electricity prices, each unit stored overnight can cost around 70–75% less than buying it at peak times, depending on the customer’s regional tariff and usage.

We’ll be back in a week or so to add the solar PV panels once the scaffolding is in place. When the panels begin generating, the system will be able to charge from free solar energy too — reducing grid imports and potential electricity costs even further. ☀️

A powerful, future-ready energy system designed to make the most of smart tariffs and solar generation.

Two-car household? Two chargers, sorted. 🔌

We recently installed a pair of single-phase MyEnergi Zappi chargers side by side, perfect for a home with more than one EV to charge.

Zappi isn't just a plug on a wall. It can prioritise charging from solar or surplus energy before pulling from the grid (Eco/Eco+ modes), it's fully controllable from the app, and it's built to handle daily use for years, backed by a 3-year warranty as standard.

Whether you've got one EV or a driveway full of them, we'll spec the right setup for your home. Get your free quote at https://renew-able.co.uk
