Eagle Rare 30-Year-Old Bourbon Takes Flight: The Ultimate Eagle Rare Release | Ending from 8 May, 16:30 GMT

This landmark auction unveils Eagle Rare 30-Year-Old, the oldest age-stated bourbon to date from Buffalo Trace Distillery. This whiskey represents the second expression aged within the Distillery’s experimental Warehouse P, where time and environment are pushed to their limits. The result is a rare study in patience and precision, underscoring Buffalo Trace’s ability to transform ageing from a constraint into a defining signature and, in doing so, to reshape expectations of what ultra-aged bourbon can become.

Lot 1 offers botte No.1, the first bottle produced of Eagle Rare 30-Year-Old, alongside an intimate private tasting experience at Buffalo Trace Distillery a unique opportunity to engage directly with the heritage and craftmanship behind the brand.

Lot 2 represents the ultimate Eagle Rare experience, a complete vertical of 10, 12, 17-, 20-, 25- and 30-Year-Old expressions, paired with an exclusive stay at Buffalo Trace Distillery’s Stagg Lodge. This rare opportunity includes access to a bespoke, VIP environment with optional private chef dining and curated tastings. Lot 3 combines a trio of key age statement releases, the 10-, 12- and 17-Year-Old, with a highly sought-after barrel selection experience, granting insight into the art of whiskey maturation, either at the distillery or at the Buffalo Trace London tasting rooms.

Leading Bonhams’ first UK spirits sale of 2026 in an exceptional bottling of Brora 40 Year Old. Distilled in 1978, this bottle was released in 2019 to celebrate the distillery’s 200th anniversary. Representing the golden age of Brora, the age of peat, this smoky and richly flavoured single malt was drawn from just 12 refill American oak hogsheads.

Bonhams is thrilled to present a stunning collection of famous releases from The Macallan distillery, including The Macallan 60th Anniversary Coronation Set and The Macallan Royal Marriage 2011 as well as a bottle of The Macallan 18 Year Old Gran Reserva 1979. Alongside Macallan, Bonhams is showcasing a range of outstanding distilleries from Speyside including Glen Grant, The Glenlivet, Glenfarclas and Tomintoul. Another standout lot within the sale is a remarkable bottling of Glen Grant 1949 50 Year Old bottled independently by Ian MacLeod Distillers. Winter Home & Interiors Including items from the Late Prof. Peter Higgs | Ending from 17 December 2025, 10:00 GMT | Edinburgh

We are delighted to offer a charming collection of carpets at Bonhams Edinburgh, presented as part of our Winter Homes and Interiors Sale. Hamish Wilson, Senior Valuer shares some of his favourite ‘garden’ gems.

Lot 224
This Heriz from Northwest Iran is a splendid example. I love the willow and the lovely green guard stipes here. The whole piece has a charming sense of balance to it and dates to the 1st half of the 20th century.
£600-800

Lot 220
This venerable Turkish Kayseri ‘Garden of Paradise’ rug is so fine it quite simply beggars belief! So evocative of past times! Kayseri is a city in Western Turkey, and we clearly see the influence from Persia, where fashions would have been carried by those travelling the old silk road. Definitely a rug to suit affluent city tastes.
£600-800

Lot 217
A splendid and richly woven Kirman ‘Tree of life’ prayer rug.  Nowadays spelt ‘Kerman’, it is by far the largest province in Iran today and is situated in the south of the country. The rug dates really dates to the early 20th Century and definitely strikes you as a luxury product of its day. I am particularly drawn to the abstract mountains below the main field and the soft blue hues in the guard stripes to the border. They really lift the piece beautifully.
£500-700

Lot 189 A Jacobite concealed portrait s***f box ,18th century, £1,000 - £1,500

Hidden-portrait s***f boxes are among the most iconic Jacobean works of art. A host may of offered his friends a pinch of s***f and, depending on the company, choose whether to reveal the concealed image, and their Jacobite sympathies—here, a portrait miniature of Charles Edward Stuart.

Following the Battle of Culloden (1746), the government of George II sought to crush the Jacobite movement by dismantling the Highland culture that had sustained it. The Act of Proscription outlawed the wearing of tartan, the carrying of arms, and even the playing of bagpipes. While the tartan covering of this box could be displayed only with great caution, openly revealing the hidden portrait of the defeated Bonnie Prince Charlie would have been enough to send its owner to prison.

The portrait of the young prince is instantly recognisable to us today, just as it would have been to those within Jacobite circles at the time.
