One of our most important software Smar Azure is celebrating its 20th anniversary today.

When it started in October 2004, there was a clear need for a user-friendly sail design software, which not only provided panels to be cut by a machine, but also offered tools to make sails going faster. In the past, it was a huge waste to make more and more "test sails", among other things we can thank Smar Azure for the fact that this step has now become unnecessary.

The software has developed a lot and become the market leader in the last 2 decades, and of course it does not work by itself, it is difficult to manage it well and at a high level. Fortunately, Smar is also a partner in this: it provides continuous training.

We are already part of the second 10 years. They have built a wonderful community of sail designers, we have a lot to thank them for.

When we started in October 2004, there was a clear need for a user-friendly sail design software, which not only provided panels to be cut by a machine, but also offered tools to make sails going faster.

As outsider of the sailing industry, but confident of our technology and knowledge, with Alessandro and Donald, we knew we could deliver to all sail designers an easy to use software application, which could precisely develop performing sails, reducing time and waste because of the re-cutting on the floor.

The start was challenging, but very soon our efforts and the user-driven approach implemented by Donald, our Technical Director, in delivering software applications for the design of any type of sails, any type of rig, was appreciated by a growing and large community of users.
We expanded our solution to fiber membrane sails, with SA-Evolution, and to rigs with the RigEdge platform, with a continuous support to all our customers everywhere. And, our vision and approach to deliver the most advanced solution to sail and rig design is stronger every day.

But it’s about people.

To all our clients, which are our SMAR Azure users community, we are so grateful and honoured to work with all. We'd like to express our thank to our clients for their belief in us and our abilities to help them achieve their goals, while always challenging us to get them a better. Both AzureProject and RigEdge are continuously enriched by the suggestions we continue to listen from all of You. Thank you for your incalculable commitment and great relationships.

To our team: To be in business and leading the industry with the standard for sail and rig design for 20 years requires having incredible people in our organization.
