🚨 DAY 82 – YOU ACTUALLY COULDN’T MAKE THIS FU***NG S**T UP! 🤡🎪🤣

Well, another day, another phone call to Davies Group chasing my insurance claim!

And just when I thought this absolute circus couldn’t get any worse, they’ve managed to take the stupidity to a whole new level! 💀🤣

82 FU***NG DAYS SINCE THE ACCIDENT!

Now, remember, I’ve already been told they had the engineer’s report, they’d received the valuation for my truck, and the settlement offer was being prepared to be emailed over to me!

Not once, but repeatedly I’ve been told the offer was coming!

Yesterday I was promised my claim would finally be reviewed today.

So today I phone AGAIN!

And guess what?!

APPARENTLY THEY NOW NEED TO SEND AN ENGINEER OUT TO PHYSICALLY INSPECT THE TRUCK TO FIND OUT IF IT’S ACTUALLY A TOTAL LOSS! 🤣🤣🤣

SORRY, WHAT THE ACTUAL F**K?!

YOU’VE ALREADY HAD THE ENGINEER’S REPORT!

YOU’VE ALREADY DISCUSSED THE VALUATION!

YOU’VE ALREADY TOLD ME YOU WERE PREPARING MY SETTLEMENT OFFER!

YOU’VE ALREADY PROMISED TO EMAIL IT OVER!

And NOW, 82 days later, you’re telling me you don’t even know whether the fu***ng truck is written off?! 🤡💀

What have you all been doing for the last nearly 12 weeks? Playing fu***ng Monopoly with the claim paperwork?! 🎲🤣

BUT WAIT… IT GETS EVEN BETTER!

The woman then asks me…

“Where’s the truck? Is it with you?”

I tell her, “I don’t know where it is!”

She then asks if I’ve still got the truck!

NO, I DON’T HAVE THE FU***NG TRUCK! 🤣🤣

IT WAS TAKEN AWAY AFTER THE ACCIDENT!

You’re the insurance claims company dealing with it, and you’re asking ME where the bloody thing is?!

HOW DO YOU LOSE TRACK OF A FU***NG 7.5-TONNE RECOVERY TRUCK?! 🚛💀

Honestly, at this point I’m beginning to think the truck has been kidnapped and nobody’s bothered telling me!

So we’ve gone from…

✅ Engineer’s report received.

✅ Valuation discussed.

✅ Correct trade valuation confirmed.

✅ Settlement offer being prepared.

✅ Promised it would be emailed over.

TO…

❌ We don’t know if it’s written off.

❌ We need another inspection.

❌ We don’t know when that’ll happen.

❌ And apparently nobody can even tell me where the fu***ng truck is!

HOW THE F**K DO YOU GO FROM PREPARING A SETTLEMENT OFFER TO NOT EVEN KNOWING IF THE VEHICLE IS A TOTAL LOSS?! 🤣🤦‍♂️

That’s not progress. That’s putting the whole claim in reverse and flooring it!

I’ve been doing vehicle recovery for over 10 years, and I’ve genuinely never witnessed anything quite like this!

If I ran my business like this, I’d turn up to recover someone’s broken-down car, spend 82 days deciding whether it was broken down, then phone the customer and ask them where they’d left it! 🤡🤣

And when I asked when this new inspection would be happening?

THEY DON’T KNOW!

Of course they fu***ng don’t!

Why would anybody know anything about a claim that’s only been open for 82 days?! 😂

THE TRUCK MANAGED TO ROLL DOWN A HILL WITH THE HANDBRAKE ON, BUT THIS INSURANCE CLAIM HAS BEEN STUCK IN NEUTRAL FOR NEARLY 12 WEEKS! 💀🤣

At this rate, I’ll have to launch a missing lorry appeal before I get a settlement offer!

🚨 MISSING – ONE MAN RECOVERY TRUCK!

Last seen somewhere in the insurance claims system.

May answer to the name of “TOTAL LOSS”, although apparently nobody can confirm that either! 🚛🤣

DAY 82 – NO SETTLEMENT OFFER, NO PAYMENT, ANOTHER ENGINEER’S INSPECTION AND NOW WE’RE PLAYING FU***NG HIDE AND SEEK WITH MY LORRY!

I HONESTLY CAN’T WAIT TO HEAR WHAT THEIR NEXT EXCUSE IS! 🤡🤣

🚨 DAY 81 – ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER FU***NG EXCUSE! 🤡🤣

Well, you’ll never guess what happened today!

Remember yesterday when I was promised my insurance settlement offer would be emailed over this morning?

AYE, WELL, THAT WENT ABOUT AS WELL AS A CHOCOLATE FIREGUARD! 🤣💀

Absolutely f**k all arrived!

So, once again, I pick up the phone and chase my insurance claim.

And today’s excuse is an absolute fu***ng BELTER! 😂

Apparently, they’re so busy dealing with BACK-TO-BACK PHONE CALLS that they haven’t had time to review my file!

SORRY, WHAT?! 🤣🤣

HERE’S A WILD FU***NG IDEA…

Maybe if you actually dealt with people’s claims instead of continually telling them to phone back tomorrow, YOU WOULDN’T HAVE SO MANY PEOPLE PHONING YOU! 🤯👏

It’s like McDonald’s telling you they can’t make your burger because they’re too busy taking orders from people asking where their fu***ng burgers are! 🍔💀🤣

Anyway, today’s lovely new promise is that someone will review my claim TOMORROW!

TOMORROW! AGAIN! 😂

I’m genuinely starting to think their office only has one computer, it’s running Windows 95, and the person who knows the password retired in 2008! 💻🤣

81 DAYS SINCE THE ACCIDENT!

81 days and apparently the biggest challenge in the entire insurance industry is finding someone with enough time to OPEN A FU***NG FILE!

And to be fair, the person I spoke to today was pleasant enough and said they didn’t want to promise something they couldn’t deliver this afternoon.

Which is brilliant, considering yesterday I was promised it would be done THIS MORNING! 🤡👏

Honestly, the truck managed to roll away with the handbrake on, yet this insurance claim couldn’t move forward if you strapped a fu***ng rocket to it! 🚀🤣

DAY 81. STILL NO OFFER. STILL NO PAYMENT. BUT WE’VE GOT ANOTHER TOMORROW!

At this rate, I’ll be celebrating the truck’s anniversary before somebody finishes reading the paperwork! 🎂💀

🚨 DAY 80 – THE INSURANCE CIRCUS CONTINUES! 🤡🎪🤣

80 DAYS. NEARLY 12 WEEKS.

Since my recovery truck decided it fancied a closer look at the Edinburgh Playhouse, and somehow the biggest car crash since then has been the handling of my insurance claim! 💀🤣

Honestly, you couldn’t make this s**t up!

📅 13th October: Apparently, the engineers had valued my truck at RETAIL value instead of TRADE value. So the report was sent back to be corrected.

📅 19th October: SURPRISE, SURPRISE! 🎉

Turns out the original valuation they’d questioned WAS THE BLOODY TRADE VALUE ALL ALONG! 🤦‍♂️🤣

So they’ve wasted even more time sending a perfectly correct valuation back to the engineers to confirm that it was, in fact, correct.

Absolutely outstanding detective work, Sherlock! 🕵️‍♂️👏

Then I’m told everything is sorted, they’ve got the figures, and I should receive my settlement offer within a day or two.

📅 26th October: SEVEN DAYS LATER!

Still no offer. Still no settlement.

So I phone AGAIN.

And today’s excuse?

THE PERSON DEALING WITH IT HASN’T HAD TIME TO REVIEW THE FILE! 🤣🤣🤣

HASN’T HAD TIME?!

It’s been 80 BLOODY DAYS, not 80 minutes!

Is the file being reviewed by someone who’s only allowed to work during a solar eclipse? 🌑😂

At this rate, I could buy another knackered MAN, rebuild it from the chassis up, crash it into another theatre and have the CCTV footage released before this lot manage to send an email! 💀🤣

💥 AND FOR EVERYONE SAYING THEY SHOULD BE PAYING RETAIL VALUE…

Unfortunately, my motor trade policy specifically states TRADE VALUE, even when it’s your OWN vehicle!

That’s the policy wording, so that’s what they’re working from.

I’m not arguing about trade versus retail. I’m arguing about the fact that it’s apparently easier to launch a rocket into space than get someone to review a bloody insurance claim! 🚀

And here’s the best bit…

I’ve now been promised that my settlement offer will be emailed over by TOMORROW MORNING! 🎉

Brilliant! Another promise to add to the collection. I’ve got that many now I could start selling them on eBay! 🤣

At this rate, the settlement cheque will probably be made out to the wrong person, posted to the wrong address and delivered by carrier pigeon with a broken wing. 🐦💀

I’ve been recovering vehicles for over 10 years. If I operated at this pace, the first customer who ever phoned me would still be standing at the side of the road waiting for me to turn up!

80 DAYS.

✅ Plenty of phone calls.

✅ Plenty of excuses.

✅ Plenty of promises.

✅ A valuation that was apparently wrong until they discovered it was right.

❌ NO SETTLEMENT OFFER.

❌ NO PAYMENT.

❌ ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE OF URGENCY.

The truck managed to roll away on its own after being parked for 15 minutes.

The insurance claim has been parked for 80 days and hasn’t moved a fu***ng inch! 🤣💀

Honestly, if incompetence was an Olympic sport, this claim would be bringing home gold, silver AND bronze! 🥇🥈🥉

DAY 80 – AND THE CIRCUS IS STILL OPEN FOR BUSINESS! 🎪🤡

🇬🇧 IS IT JUST ME, OR HAVE WE COMPLETELY LOST THE FU***NG PLOT? 🤦‍♂️

Turn on the news this morning and we’re being told Britain doesn’t have enough warships, doesn’t have enough submarines and hasn’t got the resources it needs if things kick off.

We’ve had reports of drones around military airbases, bomb threats being sent to schools, and constant warnings about potential attacks.

And what do we do? Go on national television and radio and tell the whole fu***ng world how unprepared we supposedly are! 🤦‍♂️

Surely I’m not the only one thinking we’re practically advertising our weaknesses to anyone who might want to take advantage?

It’s like telling a burglar your alarm doesn’t work, your CCTV is broken and you’ll be out all weekend!

I’m not saying the public shouldn’t know what’s happening. But surely there’s a difference between being honest about defence spending and broadcasting every weakness we’ve got?

Whatever happened to keeping your cards close to your chest?

Or am I the only one thinking this is absolutely mental? 🤷‍♂️🇬🇧

Insurance claim update — Episode 9 of “How Hard Can It Be?” 🤣

We’re now 9 weeks in and this claim has had more plot twists than Netflix.

Today’s exciting development: they finally have the engineer’s report, all the paperwork is apparently there, and we’re nearly ready for settlement…

Except the engineer valued the truck at RETAIL instead of TRADE. 😂

So after weeks of chasing the report, waiting on the report, nobody being able to see the report, then somebody finally downloading the report… it’s now been sent back because it was done wrong.

Absolutely outstanding work all round. 🤣👏

Apparently it should take up to another 5 working days to get the trade value back, then we can “move to settlement”.

9 weeks in.
Countless phone calls from me.
Pretty much f**k all from them.
And every single time I phone, I discover the next problem myself.

At this point I’m not even making a claim anymore — I’m basically project managing the whole thing for free. 😂

If they’d put half as much effort into settling it as they have into finding new ways to delay it, I’d have been paid weeks ago.

At this rate the settlement cheque will probably be made out to the wrong person. 🤣

Another exciting episode of “Will the insurance company ever settle the truck claim?” 🤣

Since the last update, I’ve made another 7 phone calls… and somehow we’re still no further forward.

Apparently the engineer’s report has now arrived, which sounds promising — except nobody can actually view it yet because it’s still sitting “pending” waiting to be uploaded onto the system. You honestly couldn’t make it up. 😂

We’re now around 9 weeks in, I’ve spent what feels like half my life on the phone, and I’m starting to think I’ll get the truck back before I get a settlement figure.

Anyway, apparently the claim handler has been messaged again and there’s another note on the file, so fingers crossed note number 847 finally does the trick 🤣

I was probably a bit of a pain in the arse changing my mind and changing the design a few times 😂 The grey was actually quite a hard colour to match with something that would really stand out, but we got there in the end.

It looks amazing and stands out. 🔥💗
