Last week saw our first Carbon Happy World training session as part of our mission to ensure our full start-to-end services are in-line with our goal: "to achieve net zero accreditation as set out by the Green House Gas Protocols (2011)."

During the session, we examined our ideas of what climate change is and what our responsibilities are as individuals and as a business. It was great hearing colleagues varying opinions. How would you define climate change and what does sustainability mean to you?

Considering and evaluating your carbon footprint as a business is incredibly important today.

As a company, we've always strived to create solutions that help our clients reduce waste and minimise their document-associated carbon footprint.

But this year we've begun our carbon happy journey - working towards ensuring our services life cycle from start to finish is always working towards becoming carbon neutral. We'll be setting out a baseline, setting targets for the next 2 years, improving our environmental policies, and working with both Vendors and Clients to support their journey too.

2022 was a year of incredible growth for our company and it has gone by in the blink of an eye. As everyone is now winding down to a deserved festive break, we look forward to another exciting year at docs24.

Our goal in 2023 is to have Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device suppliers, and Contract Research Organisation (CRO) clients on every continent. The creation of life-saving and life-enhancing drugs is not going to slow down and we are committed to assisting our clients in getting these drugs to market faster.

Service excellence, integrity, reliability, and innovation will allow us to achieve these goals along with our amazing colleagues, and the many new hires we plan to have in 2023.

Meet Jim, CEO.

After creating and selling several other small businesses, Jim launched docs24 in 2013. He brings 30 years of experience in the Document and Information Management sector. Jim’s entrepreneurial and solutions-focused mindset has helped Customers save tens of millions of dollars and returned thousands of hours lost to inefficiency. He prides himself on always being honest with his Customers and earning/maintaining their trust as a result.

Jim has been an active football player in the Scottish National Team (over 38’s) and has played in 6 World Cups with the National Team. He is married (30 years) with two children.

Digitally enabled trials might be the "talk of the town" but there remain distinct advantages to using physical documents. Some of the benefits of a print strategy for your upcoming trial include;

- The tactile experience - appeals to a patient's touch memory

- Retention - patients having access to printed materials for reference is useful given the sporadic visits with their Investigator or Study Coordinator

- Comprehension - it is proven to be easier to understand, especially in elderly patient populations

- Flexibility - deploying elements of both print and digital documents in your trial can yield great success from an enrollment and efficiency perspective
