‎And suddenly, everything else is supposed to wait. 😭

‎But before you move that request to the top of the list, pause and ask:
‎
‎💭 What problem are we solving?
‎💡 Who benefits from it?
‎⏳ What happens if we wait?
‎⚖️ What will it take to deliver?
‎
‎Because not every request labelled urgent should automatically become the highest priority.
‎
‎Good Business Analysis is about understanding the need before jumping to the solution. 💚

‎What can a childhood toy teach us about building a career? 👀
‎
‎For Oludayo Oluwatosin Gabriel , it started with empty milk cans, sticks, and discarded slippers.
‎‎Growing up, he and other children created their own toys with the materials available to them. When their creations broke, they learned to improve them and try again.
‎
‎Years later, that same mindset continued to shape his journey, from studying Petroleum and Gas Engineering to earning a fully funded MSc opportunity in the UK and eventually transitioning into Business Analysis.
‎‎His story reminds us that we don't always need perfect conditions to create something meaningful. Sometimes, we just need to start with what we have. 💚

“We need a new dashboard.”

Before you open your requirements document… pause. 😂

A good BA knows that the solution a stakeholder requests isn't always the actual problem that needs solving.

Instead of jumping straight to “What do you want?”, try asking:

👉🏽 “Why do you need it?”

That simple question can uncover the real problem, the people affected, and what success should actually look like.

The request is not always the requirement. 💚

BA: Okay… but why? 😂

Because sometimes what someone asks for isn’t actually what they need.

A good BA doesn’t just take the request and run with it. We pause, dig a little deeper, and figure out what’s really going on.

Request → Need → Problem → Possible solution. 💚

And honestly? That little pause can save everyone a LOT of unnecessary work. 😭
