⚡🔥 It was really exciting to kick off our Heritage Minds Lab monthly meetings for the new academic year.
📈 Over the past 12 months, the Lab has grown, bringing together research that explores the intersection between our experiences and uses of the past and our beliefs and attitudes towards the contemporary world.
💻 We take a creative and interdisciplinary approach to both methods and data, drawing on naturalistic and experimental designs and combining quantitative and qualitative approaches that range widely from machine learning to participatory methods.
🎯 Current projects centre on the relationship between heritage, online communication, political and religious extremism. They include grant-funded research such as Weaponised Pasts, Heritage Minds, and The Church and the Far-Right in Scotland, as well as PhD work on heritage-based hostility in Chile and the leveraging of Roman religion in present-day society.
🙌 We will open up some of these meetings to new collaborators and interested students. Please get in touch if you are interested!
