AI is making it easier than ever for businesses to create content.

The challenge? Many posts are starting to look remarkably similar. The same layouts, the same fonts, the same AI-generated graphics and the same overall style appearing across our feeds.

We’re definitely not against AI. In fact, it’s a fantastic tool when used well. The trick is making sure your content still feels like your business.

Because people don’t buy from a template. They buy from people and businesses they connect with and trust. Authenticity is key!

And if creating content isn’t the best use of your time, we have people… and we know people.

Normally our Sunday shout out goes to another great business, but today it’s going to the scotlandnationalteam ⚽

What a result! Our first World Cup win in decades and a fantastic start to the tournament.

A huge shout out to the players, staff and especially the Scotland fans who have travelled across the world and continue to represent our country with pride, passion and plenty of noise. 💙

Here’s hoping there are a few more celebrations to come…

Fabulous post from Nikkis fleurs encouraging everyone not to scroll past small business posts like they’re your ex! 😆❤️😆
…Show some support instead! Maybe start by giving their page and posts a wee like! 💐

Right, explain this one to me…
Kim Kardashian sneezes and gets 3 million views.
An influencer buys a coffee and suddenly it’s breaking the internet.
Someone’s cat falls off a sofa and gets 500,000 shares.

Meanwhile, me…
“🌸 Fresh peonies. Hand-tied bouquet. £25. Local delivery available.”
Facebook: Seen by 14 people.
Instagram: Your mum and one random bloke from Aberdeen liked this.
😂😂😂

Honestly, small business owners are out here fighting for their lives.
We pay wages.
We pay rent.
We pay suppliers.
We pay electric bills that seem to be calculated by NASA.

Then we spend an hour taking the perfect photo, another hour writing a post, hit publish and Facebook shows it to approximately three people and a hamster.

So here’s my wee plea…
If you see a local business post, don’t just scroll past it like it’s your ex.

Give it a like.
Share it.

Because while Kim Kardashian will probably survive without your share, Nikki the florist, Dave the joiner, Susan the hairdresser and Bob the builder would absolutely appreciate it.

Small businesses are the ones sponsoring local football teams, donating raffle prizes, supporting school fairs and keeping money in the local community.

And all we’re asking for is the occasional share instead of another video of somebody dancing in their kitchen.
Fair deal, no? 😂❤️

A huge shout-out this Sunday to Amorylondon, and especially to the beautiful, fabulous young ladies at The Centre Livingston.

I have to admit, this old somewhat fussy gal was completely won over by their lovely charm, professionalism, and impressive product knowledge. They took the time to explain everything thoroughly, answered all my questions, and genuinely knew their products inside out.

I came away with their fantastic Soho straighteners, which don't just straighten, they curl brilliantly too, as you can see from the photos where one of the lovely girls styled my hair for me. I'm already noticing a difference in how healthy and smooth my hair feels!

And the icing on the cake? Amory London is so confident in the quality of its products that the straightener comes with a lifetime warranty. That's the kind of confidence and customer care you don't see every day.

Thank you for such a wonderful experience and for making me feel fabulous. If you're visiting the Livingston Centre, be sure to stop by and say hello, you might just leave as impressed as I did!

Not all heroes wear capes. Sometimes they wear overalls. 🔧

Together with our friends at The Cosy Tea Room Linlithgow, we're proud to recognise the fantastic team at Hunters Of Linlithgow for their outstanding commitment to customer service, which Sheena from The Cosy Tea Room experienced first-hand having been let down by another garage.

At DKC Designing Solutions, we help organisations create exceptional customer experiences, and one thing we know for certain is that great service doesn't happen by chance. It takes dedication, consistency, and a genuine commitment to putting customers first.

Hunters Of Linlithgow demonstrates exactly that every day, setting a great example of what local businesses can achieve.

Congratulations to the whole team! 👏

Congratulations to Bry, The Wee Deaf Artist for reaching over 4,000 followers! How amazing!

I met with Bry last year when she was doing a piece for a charity in Perth. Such a lovely soul and her art work is fabulous! Give her a wee follow... if you aren't one of the 4K already doing so! 😄

Lovely to see your art being appreciated worldwide Bry! We wish you all the best!

A wee social media tip today folks…
Social media algorithms don’t know the difference between love and hate, they just see engagement.

So if you’re reacting 😡 to every advert because you’re fed up of seeing them, you may actually be teaching the platform to show you more.

Often, that advert isn’t from a scammer or even a big company, it’s from someone with a dream, a modest marketing budget, and the determination to make their business succeed.

Not interested? Scroll on. It’s kinder, and it usually works better too.
