Have you seen this TED talk on how languages shape our world? I thought it very interesting how Spanish and German speakers would describe things like bridges in a different way according to their gender. I have never thought about it but this talk really inspired me. What do you think? :)

Have you seen the movie "Black Panther"? And were you as fascinated by it like I was? I loved it! Obviously because of the made-up/borrowed language of Wakandah and how the African culture was highlightes in such an amazing way. Ever since I researched a lot about it and when I stumbled across this video, I had to share it with you. Enjoy and try not to drool! ;)

Despite the fact that most people (especially politicians) speak English these days, there are still 24 working languages in the EU. When asked why they promote multilinguism, the offiial answer was: "EU language policies aim to protect linguistic diversity and to promote knowledge of languages for reasons of cultural identity, social integration and because multilingual citizens are better placed to take advantage of education and job opportunities in the Single Market."
I think that is a very good idea. Enjoy your Friday. :)

I am sure you are familiar with languages like Entish, Dothraki, Vulcan or even Furbish. But did you know there were over 200 artifical languages out there? With their own grammar, vocabulary and all!
During my research I was extremly fascinated by "Lingua Ignota". It's a constructed language by Hildegard von Bingen that dates back to the beginning of the 13th century that is believed to have been used for mystical purposes.

Did you have a secret language when you were a child? I remember that I did. Sadly no one else understood it.... :D
