Ellie, ExecSpace’s Senior Venue Find Sales Executive attended IMEX Frankfurt last week as a hosted buyer with the Radisson Hotel Group, and what an informative week it was!

As well as reconnecting with our UK partners, Ellie was there to discover and build ExecSpace knowledge on key global city international locations and venues with a focus on the demand we are experiencing for Europe. IMEX was packed with insight and inspiration.

The event proved (as we expected) a brilliant opportunity to explore and identify international venues, build new connections, and assist our clients to expand their meeting and event requirements globally.

Huge thanks to the Radisson Hotel Group team for hosting Ellie, and to everyone who took the time to meet, chat, and collaborate during the week.

ExecSpace's Gemma was recently invited down to London to experience some of the properties in The Clermont portfolio, and she enjoyed a fantastic visit with the team.

The trip began at The Cumberland Hotel, an iconic venue with strong ties to London’s music scene, offering stays in the heart of the city with dining at Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen and a wide range of meeting and event spaces.

This was followed by a tour of Thistle Hotel, before finishing with a visit to The Clermont Victoria, perfectly located next to Victoria Station and just moments from landmarks including Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey.

Gemma commented "It was great to spend time exploring the different properties, hearing updates from the team, and seeing the variety of spaces across the portfolio. It's so important for us to keep up our knowledge of London and key city hotels and venues, to help our customers find the best venues for their events."

A huge thank you again to everyone who hosted us so warmly throughout the visit, we really appreciate the time and hospitality shown to the ExecSpace team.

Here at ExecSpace, we are excited to annouce we are collaborating with the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) to launch a new citywide individual accommodation booking platform.

We know that securing accommodation can be one of the largest challenges when organising conferences and events, and this platform is designed to remove that friction, giving organisers, delegates and visitors a single, trusted, secure platform to search and book hotels across the city.

The great news is that anyone requiring accommodation in Edinburgh can use this booking platform, if you are a local business welcoming visitors to your office, or would prefer to stay in town following an evening event, check out the site for yourself and take advantage of some great hotel prices. We were delighted to recently introduce some of our clients to brand new hotel, The Derby London City, Curio Collection by Hilton, when they joined us at the hotels impressive official opening event.

The hotel, named after the iconic bowler hat, is located in the heart of the City of London and overlooks St Dunstan in the East Church and Gardens. The new hotel is in a great spot for customers requiring to stay in the city with Tower Bridge, St Pauls, Tate Modern and other key city landmarks all less than 10 minutes away.

The evening was a fantastic opportunity to take a look around the new space and hear more about the design concept behind the hotel and its connection to the rich history of the local banking and goldsmiths area.

Thank you to the The Derby team for hosting such a lovely event, we’re looking forward to following the hotel’s journey as part of London’s hospitality and events scene.

There’s definitely a shift happening in events at the moment, and it’s all about how people want to spend time together. 🕹️

Traditional meeting rooms still absolutely have their place, but we’re seeing more teams mix things up a bit and add in experiences that feel a bit more relaxed and social alongside the agenda.

That might mean heading somewhere like Puttshack, Golf Fang, Boom Battle Bar or F1 Arcade for a bit of friendly competition, or going for something like Roxy Lanes, Lane7 or Fayre Play where it’s all about good food, a few games and a lot of laughing in between.

It’s less about replacing the “formal” parts of an event, and more about adding moments where people can switch off a bit, chat properly, and actually enjoy time together.

We’re also seeing hotels and venues lean into this, with more flexible spaces that let teams move easily from meetings to something more social without it feeling like a hard switch.

What’s your favourite work day out activity, or your go-to spot for a fun team get-together?

When planning a conference or event, most of the focus naturally goes on the agenda, speakers and content. But one of the most overlooked elements can have just as much impact… where people actually sit!

✔️ Seating and room layout play a big role in shaping how delegates interact, how comfortable they feel, and how engaged they are throughout the day.
✔️ A more informal setup can encourage conversation and collaboration, while more traditional layouts may limit how much people contribute.
✔️ Even small details, like how close attendees are to one another or where they’re positioned in the room, can influence participation and connection.
✔️ The way a room is set up can also help guide energy levels and how people move between different parts of an event.

We see this come through in different ways depending on the venue. For example, flexible meeting spaces at DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow, larger conference layouts at Marriott Piccadilly Manchester, or beautiful dining rooms spaces at Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel all naturally support different styles of interaction depending on your choice of room set up.

Events that allow for a bit of movement, whether through networking breaks or shifts in seating, often feel more dynamic and help spark new conversations. Keeping the energy fresh can be as simple as encouraging people to mix, rather than staying in the same groups all day.

The most successful events are designed to bring people together, and that doesn’t just come from the content, it starts with the space itself.
