These solid rubble walls from 1830 basement are 3mtrs below ground levels and were covered in plastic laff ;excessive moisture and mould ahere to plastics and wall sweating behind the layers of plastic under this was a layer of bitumen. There was a persistant leak for decades this just ran under a a old stone floor ans was never visible as of the previousvfloor were built up with timber,
After removing all the plastics and gypsum and wooden top floor stone flags underneath and wet ssoil, solving the leaks was nxt issue from outside in the gully of the road .
The walls are now lime plastered and dry ready for a skim of lime

New loo area previously very damp wall we're wet to touch covered in artex and chip paper smells very musky getting the balance correct at basement level means a dry home
