🐾 HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DOG DAY! 🐾

Dogs bring so much joy, love and companionship into our lives, and they truly deserve to be celebrated every single day — but especially today! 🐶♥️

As I was looking through my phone for some photos to share, I realised that I’ve received far fewer photos than usual this year of your wonderful dogs enjoying their time in the woodland. 🌲🌳

I absolutely love seeing them exploring, playing and simply being dogs in the freedom of the woodland, so if you have any photos of your four-legged friends enjoying their visits this year, I’d love for you to share them with us in the comments! 🐾

🐾💔 Rest in peace beautiful Max 💔🐾

Today Max sadly lost his battle with cancer after putting up a big fight. Max was a stunner of a Romanian rescue who’s been coming to the woodland for a few years with his sister Elsa and brother Sam. Max was a loyal and loving boy who was so gentle. He would sometimes prefer to sit and chill than go for his walks in the woodland. I will always have the fondness memories of him.

My thoughts are very much with his mum, dad, Elsa and Sam tonight. Thank you for being you Max 💙.

Firstly, a huge apology for not getting to this last night. I was unexpectedly held up elsewhere, and I didn’t want to announce our winner late on a Friday evening! 😂

But the moment has finally arrived… 🥁🥁🥁

A HUGE thank you to everyone who placed a bid for the pushchair. I’m genuinely so grateful for every single one of you who got involved, and I’m absolutely delighted that this wonderful chair is going to a new home where it can continue helping a deserving dog get out and about. 🐾❤️

Hopefully, that will go a good way towards purchasing half of a brand-new chair and means that the kindness from this little fundraiser can continue to help another dog and their family. 🐾❤️

🐾❤️ CHARITY SALE — GIVE AN OLDER DOG THE FREEDOM TO EXPLORE AGAIN! ❤️🐾

Do you have an older dog who still absolutely loves getting out and about, but whose little legs just don’t manage the longer walks they once did? 🥹🐶

Then this could be the perfect opportunity to give them back some of that freedom. 🥰

Some of you who have been following Highland Hounds for a while may remember that a few years ago, when our beautiful Bella 💔 could no longer walk very far, I was incredibly lucky to borrow this amazing dog pushchair from the wonderful Winston's Wheels Charity 1191322.

It meant Bella could still enjoy some of her favourite places and adventures without having to walk further than she was comfortable with. ❤️

Although, in true Bella fashion, she refused point blank to lie down in it! 😂 So our adventures were limited by how long she was prepared to sit — with her head permanently sticking out of the top! 😂🐾

Sadly, we no longer have a need for the pushchair, so rather than it sitting unused, we want to give it the chance to make another dog’s life a little easier. 🥰

The chair is now showing its age and isn’t in perfect condition, so after chatting with the lovely team at Winston’s Wheels, we’ve agreed that the best thing to do is sell it locally and donate 100% of the money raised to the charity, helping them work towards providing another pushchair for a dog who needs one. 🐾❤️

After spending some proper time in the woodland this afternoon it became apparent to me that once again we’re having issues with people not picking up after their dogs.

I know that a lot of you have more than one dog and it can be hard to watch them all 100% of the time but please do your best to keep the woodland clean. Most of these were found near the path so they must have been seen by someone at some point.

We have a pretty big bin but even if you don’t have a spare bag or don’t want to use your own bags on someone else’s dog then just let me know you have spotted it and I will remove it myself.

It appeared that my last choice of location for this guy wasn’t great as not a single person discovered him without my help 😂. So I’ve moved him again today and hopefully this time you’ll all have more luck.
