I received this beautiful message from a family following the loss of their dad. It means so much to know that something I’ve put together can bring comfort and hold such a special place in a family’s hearts. It’s truly a privilege and a pleasure to create something so meaningful for a family during such a difficult time. ❤️

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Andrea, who left us peacefully on Monday, 17th August 2026, at Roxburghe House in Aberdeen, following a bravely fought battle with cancer.

Andrea dedicated her life to helping others through her rewarding career as an Occupational Therapist. Above all else, she was a devoted mother to her 10-year-old daughter Ava. She will be profoundly missed by her partner Ross, mother Pat, brother Chris, sister-in-law Heather, niece Erin and all family and friends who knew her.

We will celebrate her life on Monday, 31st August at 12noon in Graham J. Rattray’s Funeral Home, Shore Street, Lossiemouth, IV31 6PB.

Family flowers only please. If you wish to honour Andrea’s memory, donations will be gratefully accepted at the funeral home door for Friends of Roxburghe and Friends of ANCHOR, two charities close to our hearts.

Not a religious person but I felt quite appropriate. 💔

"The Final Inspection"

The policeman stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining. Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays, and at times my talk was rough, and sometimes I've been violent, Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny, That wasn't mine to keep.... Though I worked a lot of overtime When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place Among the people here. They never wanted me around Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord, It needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't.....I'll understand.

There was silence all around the throne Where the saints had often trod. As the policeman waited quietly,
"Step forward now, policeman, You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell."

Rest in Peace 💙

Today I went to a funeral, but not as a celebrant. I was there to say farewell to a unique guy — a man who loved his bikes and lived life in his own way. It was a lovely service.
Afterwards, I took the dog for a walk along the beach, enjoying the sea breeze and reflecting on the day. Although, I have to admit, I was wishing it was a little warmer… somewhere more like Cyprus!
Days like today remind you just how quickly time passes. I wish it would slow down a little.
Make the most of it, folks. Enjoy the moments, appreciate the people around you, and don’t put off living. ❤️
