Peacefully, at his home, with his family by his side, after a short illness fought with dignity and bravery, on Tuesday, 15th September 2026, James “Jake”, aged 74 years. Loving dad of Laura and Pamela, much loved granda of the late Euan, Lee, Ryan, Dylan, Summer and Wee Jake, loving brother, uncle, and a good friend to many.

Funeral service at W.G. Catto Funeral Home on Thursday, 1st October, at 2pm, to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only, please, but donations, if desired, in Jake’s memory to Cancer Research UK.

It’s such a pleasure to help facilitate this alongside Dr Salma Siddique. It's an open, relaxed space where people can talk about all sorts of things — nothing is off limits. In other cafés, people have shared their funeral wishes, opened up about personal bereavements, and talked honestly about their own relationship with the inevitable. It’s amazing what can unfold when people are simply given the space to talk, listen and share.

Peacefully at Dr Gray’s Hospital on Monday 14th September 2026 Albert aged 92 years, dearly loved husband of Ruby for 64 years. A much-loved Dad of Graeme and Neil, father-in-law of Shirley and Mandy, and a devoted Granda of Corey and Ross. A friend to many.

Joseph (Joe) aged 78 years, father in law of Shane, Stephen, Tim, Brian and Richard, loving granda of Callum, Emily, Jack, Lola, Alfie, Katy, Joe, Skye, Noah, Alice, Beth, Elsie and Andy, brother, brother in law, uncle and friend to many.
