Most industrial sites only think about their electrical system when something stops working. By then, the cost has already started running.

A reactive callout means lost production hours, emergency premiums, and a fault diagnosed under pressure. A planned inspection means the same fault caught months earlier, scheduled around your operation, and dealt with for a fraction of the price.

Fixed wire testing, thermal imaging, and condition surveys are not just compliance boxes. They're cheap insurance against the kind of shutdown that affects your whole P&L.

If your last EICR is more than three years old, or you're not sure when it was, that's worth a conversation.

Powering up new kit at Minuteman Press.

We fitted a dedicated 16A socket for a new printing machine, plus extra double sockets to give the workspace more capacity. Surface conduit run neat and secured throughout.

Half a day on site. No problems, no fuss.

Commercial electrical work, done properly.

EV charging is no longer optional on new build developments. Part S requires it. Buyers expect it. The grid increasingly demands it.

Building it into the spec from day one is dramatically cheaper than retrofitting. Supply capacity, consumer unit headroom, and cable routes get planned once, costed once, and installed cleanly alongside everything else.

Skip that step and you're looking at DNO supply upgrades, consumer unit replacements, and disruptive retrofit work that lands on the homeowner or your aftercare team.

Developers, how are you handling EV charging on your current pipeline? Designed in from day one, or kept as a plot-level optional extra?

Most electrical overspend on new build sites isn't caused by the electrical work. It's caused by everything that wasn't agreed before the first cable was pulled.

Cable routes clash with structural steels. EV charging gets bolted on rather than designed in. SAP and Part L assumptions don't match installed reality.

None of these are the contractor's fault. They're a coordination gap.

Engaging your electrical partner at design stage locks in cable routes, validates supply capacity, and gives every trade a stable plan to work to. Programme risk drops. Variations drop.

Kitchen electrical first fix, sorted in a day.

We upgraded the consumer unit to a new metal unit with RCBOs and surge protection, reworked the lighting to suit the new kitchen layout, and moved the sockets into the right positions for the new design.

The installation has also been left ready to take on any additional electrical work later on.

Proper job, start to finish.

Most new build electrical issues don't show up at first fix. They show up at handover, when variations have already been signed off.

These five questions, asked before the first cable is pulled, surface the issues early.

Save this for your next pre-start meeting!

Solar PV on new build developments rewards early thinking. Design stage is where the value is locked in, or lost.

We've put together a quick guide to the six decisions that consistently separate a clean install from one that creates aftercare and compliance headaches.

Swipe through, save it for your next design review, or send it to whoever's specifying the renewable strategy on your current scheme ➡️

What you don’t see in a commercial solar install is where most of the work happens.

Before a single panel goes on the roof, it starts here. System design. Mapping out layouts, working around roof constraints, factoring in orientation, load requirements, and how the business actually uses energy day to day. No two sites are the same, and getting this stage right is what determines how well the system performs long term.

This is where the real problem solving happens. Balancing maximum generation with practical installation, avoiding shading issues, and designing a system that delivers real results, not just numbers on paper.

New build first fix complete in three days.

Every cable secured, every back box square, site swept clean before we left.

A clean site is a happy site. Tidy first fix means tidy second fix, fewer snags at handover, and a build that keeps moving.

Another one delivered across West Yorkshire.
