What a privilege to work with this amazing guy Ben Wilson on his last official cook for OsNosh - Oswestry Community Kitchen today.
This private function at Oswestry Memorial Hall is a great showcase for Ben’s culinary artistry.
However, what he’s created at OsNosh goes way beyond food.
On behalf of the many 1000’s who have benefitted from OsNosh over the years, 100s of volunteers, and 100s of schoolchildren you’ve inspired to create good food, “Thank You Ben! “

Good luck taking your creativity and big heart to a whole new audience Ben….. we can’t wait to see what comes next 🙌❤️🤗

Reflections…
Taking this snap in Ellesmere today, I was reminded of the importance of reflection.
Taking time to reflect, on what you’ve achieved, what you’ve learnt, and how you’ve felt on the journey, is so important.

Like steering one of these narrowboats, small adjustments can have a big impact. So keep checking you are still on the course you intended.

What a great line-up !

Love being part of this team, and making plans for the new look/feel of OMH - Oswestry Memorial Hall 😁🙌

Exciting times at OMH as we look to bring even more of our community to the fabulous Memorial Hall building, to benefit from the space, activities and clubs that you ‘ll find here.

To do this, our team is expanding… and if you haven’t seen us all, here’s some brief intros…

Paul is our Community Manager, and is leading the effort to keep the hall open and build a sustainable future for the OMH charity and building.
He’s at the hall most days, sorting out the finances, looking after customers, and promoting the hall to the community.

Maddy is our own ‘Miss Creative’, looking after our social media, being our ‘ideas machine’, and this week, even painting the windows!

Harry recently joined the team to help manage projects like our new ‘Move Make Mend’ summer programme (exciting news on this coming very soon!).
He’s also helping with customer service and policies and procedures.

Last but not least is Simon (the Rock!) our dedicated Caretaker. Simon is first in, last out, keeping the building safe, secure and shiny 😊

If you see the door open, pop inside, check out the noticeboard, and wander upstairs where you’ll usually find one of us with a smile and a cuppa for you.

What a pleasure to join old friend and nature-queen Kirsty Martuccio as she, Andrew and the team at RSPB Lake Vyrnwy Llyn Efyrnwy opened up their fabulous brand new TREE NURSERY by Lake Vyrnwy today 🙌

It was great to join so many from the local community supporting the project; planting, willow weaving, moving logs, building stone walls, bug houses…
and of course eating cake !
Now you know why I was there 🤣 🍰

Exciting times at Oswestry Memorial Hall, and Helen’s support and encouragement was lovely to receive.

Social pages for the hall launching this month, and we have a new website live now!

Great to have the support of Harry Maltby too… sharing his ‘customer experience’ expertise 🙏

I recently met with community activists working to revitalise Oswestry Memorial Hall as an asset for the town.

They have recently added a number of mental health and neurodiversity support activities to their growing user community.

Thank you to Paul and the team for the invite, and well done for all their hard work.
