WE ARE HIRING - Principal Ecologist
Wildbanks Conservation is excited to announce we are looking to expand our team again. We are looking for a passionate, experienced Principal Ecologist to join our skilled and dedicated team on a part-time basis. The candidate will take a lead role to grow the consultancy and guide and support our team of ecologists, providing technical input and quality assurance.
We are a team of 7 highly skilled, committed conservationists that deliver a wide range of ecological and practical projects. You will work with the directors and senior staff to oversee all areas of the ecological consultancy practice. This is an opportunity to build a role that suits your expertise and can fit your circumstances within a small, dedicated enjoyable business that demands quality of work over profits.
What You’ll Bring
• Experience: Significant industry experience, ideally at Senior or Principal level with success at delivering projects in England and Wales
• Drive: Self motivated and Proactive attitude
• Licensing: Ideally hold NE and/or NRW protected species survey licences and have held and be experienced in the delivery of EPS licences
• Technical Knowledge: Excellent working knowledge of protected species planning policies and BNG assessments (including Habitat Condition assessments), Net Biodiversity Benefit Plans
• Team Spirit: A great team player who is happy to work flexibly
• Field Readiness: A certain level of fitness is required for site surveys. Some unsociable hours during peak season and occasional work away from home may be required
What We Offer
• Flexibility: As this is a part-time role, terms and hours will be agreed with the right candidate to suit their circumstances
• Holiday: 24 days holiday (pro-rata) plus bank holidays

• Transport: Use of a company vehicles during working hours
• Salary: £40k-£45k pro rata dependant on experience
