After visiting an art exhibition in Ely, I started to research working with fused glass.
The idea of making my own jewellery really appealed to me and within a day or two I had decided to buy a small microwave kiln.
Somehow, over the next couple of months I had moved on from a small kiln to one many times the size operating in a dedicated workshop.
My husband and friends spent several cold, wet and windy weekends re-purposing our garden shed and bought me the kiln for my birthday.
I spend many happy hours in The Glass Studio (my shed) making everything from coasters, plates, dishes, pendants and Christmas decorations.

In case you're wondering about the name. Before the shed was converted into my own private little craft space, my children had adorned it with a skull and crossbones. The flag stayed after the renovation so calling it Pirate Glass seemed like the right thing to do.
