Two inspiring days spent at SheVentures 2026 on the shores of Lough Erne, right here in Fermanagh.

It was fantastic to see our county hosting women founders, investors, leaders and changemakers from across the island of Ireland and beyond at L***y Beg Island Resort and Spa

The event created space for meaningful connections and opportunities to learn from others who are building businesses, supporting founders and investing in growth. Each speaker shared honest experiences, practical insights and valuable advice, providing plenty of inspiration and actionable takeaways.

Congratulations to the AwakenHub and AwakenAngels for delivering such a brilliantly inspiring event and for the work they do supporting women founders through community, connection, learning and access to investment.

If you're a woman founder, business owner or aspiring entrepreneur it is well worth connecting with them. The support, network and opportunities available through their programmes and investment activity are helping to strengthen the ecosystem for women-led businesses across the island.

On the last Wednesday of every month, local founders, entrepreneurs, SMEs and growing businesses can meet with a technical consultant from South West College's Innotech Team for an informal conversation about their business, ideas and opportunities.

Whether you're developing a new product or service, looking at process improvements, exploring innovation opportunities, or simply want to discuss a challenge you're facing, the team can help identify practical next steps and available support.

A brilliant group to have based here at The Workhouse Enniskillen.

Island Voices Toastmasters International continues to create a really supportive space for people looking to build confidence in public speaking, presentations, leadership and communication skills.

Whether you are running a business, pitching ideas, leading meetings or simply wanting to feel more confident speaking in front of others, the support and encouragement within the group is hugely valuable.

If you haven’t been along yet, their next meeting takes place Tuesday 26 May at The Workhouse. The group are always happy to see new faces.

The restored Workhouse Entrance Block, covering approximately 494 square meters, now serves as a landmark that commemorates the scale of suffering during the famine and beyond.

Part of the ground floor space, has been restored to tell the story of the Workhouse through interpretative panels, artefacts, and exhibits related to the lives associated with it.

This is the only Workhouse in Northern Ireland telling the story of its inmates, the famine period, and the lives of those within it up to its closure in 1948.

The Workhouse is open for visitors, offering an opportunity to connect with the stories of the past and the people who entered through its doors.

Ready to move beyond just asking AI questions and start building with it?

Join us at The Workhouse for a practical hands-on session with Peter Hughes focused on how AI can help turn ideas into real outputs.

Peter will demonstrate an AI build, using a website project to show what’s now possible, while guiding attendees through the thinking, prompts and steps behind the process. You’ll then have the chance to test it yourself, whether for business or personal use.
