All of this

Not just hand holding, not turning up while you are in labour, not popping round to hold the baby, not sitting drinking tea cooing over baby.

As a doula I am part of all of the journey, getting to know birth plans, hopes and wishes. Also getting to know you. On call - in contact - throughout labour - helping with first feeds

Post natally there are so many adjustments and questions, tears and happiness

Im there for all of it.

So instead of jumping on the outrage train, I think it’s worth unpacking it properly. What might she have meant? Why do so many people think this way? And more importantly, what’s the truth about breastfeeding past six months?
