At BNI Angels, it’s not just about generating business and revenue for the businesses in the room — although that’s certainly an important part of it.

It’s about building a community of trusted people. People you get to know, trust and feel confident referring to others — and people you’re genuinely happy to support.

That community spirit also extends beyond business. We’re proud to support charitable causes and help shine a light on the great things our members do outside of their businesses.

One great example is our very own Saurav from Heating and Cooling Specialist, who has taken on an incredible challenge to raise vital funds for Duchenne UK and the Family Fund for Strength for Stanley.

🚴‍♂️ **Saurav is cycling an incredible 2,000km throughout August!**

It’s a huge challenge for a very worthwhile cause, and we’re incredibly proud to support him.

The other week we were extremely lucky to have the honourable Helen Maguire BEM (MP for Epsom and Ewell) join BNI Angels in Epsom, at the Horton Golf Park.

As someone who studied French and German at University, Helen went on to gain her officer's commission from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. She then went on to become Captain in the Royal Military Police, serving in both Bosnia and Iraq.

After leaving the army, Helen found success in launching and running businesses that included a fitness company followed by a fundraising consultancy business.

In 2023, Helen was honoured with the British Empire Medal (BEM) before winning the seat of Epsom and Ewell in the 2024 general election. Also in 2024, she was appointed party spokesperson for Defence as part of Ed Davey's Liberal Democrat Frontbench Team.

Helen has a vast wealth of experience and is a huge supporter for local businesses, particularly in and around Epsom and Ewell.

We were extremely fortunate to have Helen give a brief talk about her background and her passion for business and it was an honour to share a room with her.

At BNI Angels we don't just find new business for each other (although that is a huge part of what we do), but we also recognise those people and businesses that are going the extra mile for the benefit of the group.

Last week we celebrated the achievements of Danni from MoneyBooks Solutions , Adam from SM Roofing, Evgeni from Fenix Architects and Joe from JPA Electrical for their extra contributions.

With already over 25 different members/businesses in the room, we are on the look out for new people who would like to see the power of Referral Networking at hand and grow their own business.

And as the group grows there becomes more and more opportunities for our members to not only grow their own businesses but also help other businesses in the community grow too.
